Hey all,
I just got the game and I'm kinda lost. After reading wiki and forums for a while it all became more confusing.
So if its not too much to ask I'm looking for a newb friendly person to help me with the basics of the game
(as in playing with me a little and explain stuff along the way).
(My play time is GMT+1)
also how do stances work?
how dagger attacks work (i tried them but instead of dmg it said miss)
how does armor affect dmg?
what are titles titles and do they give a gameplay advantage?
Thank You in advance for answers.

But there are alot of questions you can get answered here on the forums, but you can always send a private message if you need some help in game and people are willing to help

Moved to Q&A. This is somewhere between Q&A and a request for services, but closer to the former.

also how do stances work?
A player can only have one stance at a time. Stances can increase attack speed, give chance to block attacks, etc. Skills like Wild Blow will remove a stance on an enemy.
how dagger attacks work (i tried them but instead of dmg it said miss)
You were probably blind, or something along those lines. Dagger attacks work like normal attacks. Dagger skills work as a chain: Lead Attack --> Offhand Attack --> Dual Attack.
how does armor affect dmg?
When an enemy attacks, he has a 12.5% chance to hit your head, hands, or boots, a 25% chance to hit your legs, and a 37.5% chance to hit your chest. Armor is not additive: having 80 AL on your chest and legs does not give you 160 AL. It gives you 80 AL if the enemy happens to strike that area. Shields give additional armor applied to all pieces. How armor affects damage is a bit complicated, so read up here: http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Damage_calculation if interested.
what are titles titles and do they give a gameplay advantage?
Titles are just for showing off accomplishments. They do not affect gameplay.
Hope I could help.

Stances activate immediately (no cast time). You can only have 1 stance active at a time (activating a new stance cancels the one you are in). Certain attacks can remove stances from the enemy.
Dagger attacks usually have a prerequisite. Most of the time, a dagger chain will start with a lead attack, follow with an offhand attack and end with a dual attack. Carefully read the skill descriptions of your attack skills. Usually, offhand attacks will say "Must follow a lead attack." This means you have to hit the target with a lead attack first (if you don't hit with the lead attack, for instance by being blocked, it doesn't count) and can then use the offhand attack. Sometimes, offhand attacks can be used without a lead attack, or must be used after a dual attack, or have another different prerequisite. Just carefully read the skill description to find out how they work.
All damage that is not armor ignoring is affected by an armor rating. Armor ignoring damage is holy damage or untyped damage for example. All damage descriptions are based on a target with 60 armor. A target with 100 armor will only take half as much damage as a target with 60 armor, and a target with 140 armor will only take a quarter of the damage a target with 60 armor would take. Read the article on 'armor rating' on the wiki to see complete armor rating tables.
Titles are gained by achieving a certain result in game. A protector title, for example, is gained by completing all missions in a campaign on master level / with the bonus. Some titles, such as reputation titles, give certain gameplay advantages. The skill linked to those titles increase in their effectiveness when you achieve a higher rank in that title. Other titles are purely for cosmetic effect / bragging rights. An example is the sweet tooth title. This title does not give you any advantages in game (other than counting towards the 'maxed titles' title).

Join a very large guild with a large alliance, make sure they are very active, and have people in your time zone. Guilds can be very helpful and family like if its a good one. They will give weapons and adopt you if you are sincere and honest. Find a guild with great web site, that plan events together and a server for Teamspeak voice communication for game play.
And finally learn how to use this site and its completly hyperlinked with everything you need to know. How to do missions quests maps about weapons armor skills nick locations just everything you want to know about GW
