Hello, I have a question about charming a lvl 15 white tiger out side of Melandru's Hope. I have tried to charm this tiger but it keeps saying I can't.

The skill Charm Animal does mention that I cannot charm a animal 4 lvls above me but I'm lvl 20 lol so I'm not sure why it's not letting me charm him.

The boss Salke Fur Friend spawns there and the wiki says you can charm the tiger if you flag your hero's to distract him. Which I have tried many times to no avail.

So have they changed the skill were you can't charm higer lvl pets now?

if so that blows!

it's never been an issue with me to just charm a low level pet and level it up doing z missions/bounties. Getting it to lvl 20 fast is almost as meaningless as power levelling: you'll be lvl 20 in no time and 99.9999999% of the character's and pet's life will be lvl 20.

So I should stop being lazy and just lvl him the old fastioned way? Hmm I guess I could do that lol. I just wondered why it wasn't working for me. Thanks for the reply anyway, I took the hint

it sounds like you're failing at flagging your heroes and the wardens charm it before you get to it

yeah, by the sound of it, u can cap a low lvl one and lvl it up faster than the time it is going to take u to cap this lvl 15 tiger

Fail???.. Alright Mr/Mrs I may be an old married chick but I think in the past 4+ yrs of playing this game that I somewhat know how to flag hero's

P.S Oh It's a ranger boss that spawns there Salke Fur Friend, he's the one nabbing my pet before I do!

Yes, the boss usually charms the tiger pretty fast. You would need some speed skills (Fall Back, Charge, etc.) to get you and the heroes in range to charm it before the boss does. But as mentioned, charming a level 3/5 tiger and leveling it up is quite easy. In fact, it won't matter much which evolution you get as it will almost always end up as Hearty through normal playing. Once you have a Hearty pet and take it to the Zaishen Menagerie you can then get Wynn to spawn a level 20 version of Elder, Hearty, or Dire for you to spawn.

Ah yes chief, the old tame-the-tiger trick. (to be said in a Maxwell Smart voice).
I tried that in the past without success, although I didn't try very hard.
Nowadays, with the Menagerie, it's easier just to tame a low level pet, level it up to 20/hearty and then spawn any evolution you want.

I have some lvl 20 pets in the zoo but needed/wanted the white tiger.
lol @ Mazwell Smart Voice .. I use to watch that show when I was little, gzz I'm old.

I remember doing this on my monk. The boss groups walks down a kind of slope at the base of which is the uncharmed tiger. You yourself need to stay at the portal and flag your heroes in the path between the boss group and the tiger. To do this you will need to flag them twice, because with the geography of melandru's they cannot run directly to the position you need them to be without getting body blocked. As soon as they are in place, you then creep forward yourself and spawn the boss. Use ctrl+space on the boss so your heroes take it out first.
