Is it still worth it to try for GWAMM if you have no active characters right now?
How long would it take? Assuming you play 3-4 hours a day.
What are the benefits of the HoM going to be in GW2? (I really, really hope it's just aesthetic.)
Can you buy minis for years which you haven't "lived" as long and dedicate them?
Is Survivor mandatory for GWAMM?

1. Yes, if you want
2. Depends on a few things. You could pretty easily get r5 (My Guild Halls Smells of Rich Mahogany) within as little as a month or so playing 3-4 hours a day if you know the game.
3. Don't know yet. There will be no imbalance due to HoM rewards, so expect cosmetic stuff.
4. Yes.
5. No, but coming from someone sitting on 27 titles (2 consumable titles left), it would REALLY help. Unless you've got K/L close, in which case it doesn't really make a difference.

Will GW2 have a focus on PvP?
Was GW intended to have such a focus?

1. Focus, no. They're making it into more of a traditional MMO. There will be several different styles of PvP, but the game will not be balanced around a PvP environment.
2. Yeah, I think so. Earlier in the game they even shipped people overseas for tournaments. But it never really developed into much of a e-sport or anything with some persisting meta issues and the general play of the game (which is why they've changed it a bunch of times).

You can find out more about GW2 on that guru http://www.guildwars2guru.com/ The first section has all of the news/interviews posted. They are planning on two types of PvP, one of which will be more esport and the other amateur.
As for GWAMM, here is a link to the "maxing titles" guide http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guide..._maxing_titles

What do you mean by "worth it"? Personally, I don't think that "going for GWAMM" just for the sake of having the title is ever worth it. With all the speed clears, drunk bots, etc., having GWAMM is almost meaningless anyway, so unless you actually want to vanquish everything, do all the missions, etc., why bother? It ain't gonna impress anyone.
Survivor is not needed to get GWAMM - I have 26 or 27 titles and all I would need for GWAMM would be the Kiddie titles - drunkard, party animal, sweettooth - which I'm not going to bother with. (There's few other possibilities too)
As far as we know, ANet has stated that any benefit in GW2 will be only cosmetic/aesthetic.
Yes, you can buy any mini from any source - even dedicated ones. (But you can't put dedicated ones into your HoM)

There are many titles that work together for PvE stuff. Cartography goes with vanquishing and wisdom+luck too if you have lockpicks. Just an example.
Make sure you're playing a profession you enjoy and hopefully one that has a lot of build diversity.
