I've been amazed by the Beast Mastery build I've seen recently in RA,so I decided to join the "movement"
So here are a few question on the subjet
a) I don't exactly understand the concept of Deathleveling a pet although I did read the Wiki page on it. I understand I have to let the pet kill me several time while I have a hero ressing me,but the Pet just won't attack me. I tried attacking the White Tiger(in the Menagerie) and he won't reply,I also tried Charm Pet and canceling and he still won't attack me. What am I doing wrong?
b) So from what I heard,I need a Energy setup to play a BM build. Was wondering what staff mods I'd exactly need?
c) A Minor Beast Mastery Rune is enough? I'm not really okay with taking Major/Sups because of my already not-so-high health.
Beast Mastery & Death Leveling.

To death level a non-aggressive pet you can attack it once and bip sac yourself to death as well. Using a 55 setup you can level it afk by saccing and having non full health rez skills on heroes. Make sure you have a full health rez for when the pet is level 20. I think it took 25-30(wiki says 15-20) minutes to get them to level 20.
There is a guide on this page http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Guid..._the_Menagerie.

I'd love to see a screenshot of level 5 pets spawned in the arena by Wynn. Let me know when you manage to get it, 'kay?
A high-energy staff for a beastmaster can be a max-stat staff for any caster class and have any attribute requirement. (My ranger uses a Tengu Air Staff from the BMP, for example.) Give it an Insightful staff head (+5e), a Hale & Hearty inscription (+5e^50), and a wrapping of Fortitude (hp+30). A staff modded this way will boost your energy by +20.

Unless you are in a big hurry, there is another way to accomplish the same result. Simply level a pet up to level 20 (any method, any evolution, even hearty) and put it in the menagerie. You can then get the guy to spawn any evolution for you to charm.

I'm fairly certain that pets in the menagerie cannot be death leveled.

It's not difficult (or time-consuming) to get an animal levelled to 5....just charm one in the grounds and take them out into pve for a few minutes, and when they've got to lvl 5, register them and dismiss them, and then you can get a lvl 5 spawned in the arena and you can deathlevel them with your hero ressing you.

I don't get whats the point then. Why would I want to charm a pet if I already leveled my pet to 20?
|
When the top tier is unlocked for a particular pet species, you can ask Wynn to spawn that pet with any of the three evolutions. This is useful if you leveled your pet to one evolution (hearty, say) and later decide you want a different one (dire, say). It is also useful because any of your other characters on the account and any hero on the account can charm that pet at level 20 without needing to level it themselves.

I'm still a bit confused. I do have a Lv7 White Tiger registered. How do I get him to spawn in the arena? |
What it comes down to is that Wynn will not spawn a pet at any higher level than you have registered for that species. You must either earn the higher levels by leveling the pet yourself or you must pay Zaishen coins and gold to unlock higher levels.

Thanks,
At the end,I guess I'll just level him the usual way. Maybe bring him to AB and hope no one kills him.

You can get a pet from lvl 5 to lvl 20 in 4-5 solo runs through witmans folly in nm. Rt/R, bring SoS build and comfort animal, and kill every grawl you can find. Several bosses, lots of grawl, fair amount of xp for you pet, but don't expect in the way of drops.

Of course, if you just wanted a Hearty pet to begin with, then you can just do Death Leveling, but, as I said, unless you are in a big hurry, you could just level the pet "oldschool" - take it with you and let it level up naturally.
