Char Creation Face Tattoos Off?

In the character creation options, you can click Show for the facial tattoos in the Head options. When I deselect show, it still shows up in-game. Is there any way to turn this off? I would like a clean face.

There's a headgear icon in your inventory that allows you to turn it off. It should be in the upper left corner.
