Tell us who can't enter the Secret River Passage
vader
If Anet is going to keep putting WIK wanted quests inside the Secret River Passage, please tell us who can't go in (like Mallyx) instead of just saying "someone can't enter" (or whatever the exact text is). In three PUGs yesterday we got to the passage and someone couldn't enter. Of course, nobody admitted it and the groups all fell apart when we got back to TOA. It actually got to the point where I saw people were complaining about griefers in TOA that coudn't enter and were then purposely joining groups to irritate people.

Agreed. This should be for anything really. I have seen this happen with Ooze Pits etc. as well. Very frustrating.

secret passage is via zinn recruiting which i assume almost everyone does first - saves the scavenger hunt effort.
The big question id ask would be - is everyone wik enabled and done zinn trial ?
Ive seen non wik ppl try and join wik teams so i guess its that - someone thinking they can join in skipping the wik unlock.
Also when you made ur way to secret passage did any wik foes appear - eg in black curtain - if no wik foes then someone hasnt wik enabled as they wont appear otherwise.
But i also agree with being told who cant enter so /digned

I haven't done the WiK quests in a while, but I can see why this would be annoying.

and also, in PUGS most the time the person that is holding you back doesn't know its them. They're all like "all right! adventure!" and they have no clue that they haven't completed anything important.

This is like Duncan.. gates closed, and the entire PuG team: "I killed all other bosses" "me too". Then we have to check one by one who is lying, and of course liar suddenly disappears when it gets to him.

one of anets bigger failings is having areas that can only be accessed by certain players and forcing us to roll the dice every time we party up. could fix it easily by making character quests spamable in party chat. let's hope they fix it in gw2.
though this pales compared to all the GRIND they said this game wasn't supposed have. i could write a book about that... but i digress.

Having places all the party cannot enter isn't a failing when the places are obvious which most of them are.
You complete the missions and places open up I kind of like that.
The war in Kryta is an exception in that it needs a flowchart to work out what you need to do because much of it involves listening to dialogue.
If you didn't visit x and listen to the 4th piece of dialogue which only occurs after you have visited y and stood on one leg whilst wearing a party hat etc.
It is fun working it out but is obviously causing problems in what is supposed to be a cooperative game.
Mark the place on the map and have the parties form up after they travel there would be one option.
Or assume when your in a party the others just told your character the bits you missed out on and brought you up to speed would be another.
Whatever you do do something.
Grind ? there is NO grind !
Well no grind that you have no alternative but to do to finish the game.
GW grind is entirely up to the players to do if the want to.

they are able to do this for the nightfall missions, why not WiK?

But it should be possible to at least list the person that isn't eligible to enter an area when you get the error message, that won't fix anything really but at least you could put that person on ignore so it won't happen again.
