Good update. Thumbs up!

Maybe they are hinting that the Jade Sea will turn back to water at some point and the dragon trapped in the jade did not die in the process.
Or
They could be doing really good acid.

Truly, this update will forever change the way we play this noble game.

It's a not so subtle hint that they're going to nerf RoJ!
Edit: As for the acid comment, no... they were probably just chasing the dragon. |
also the dragon reference is particularly appropriate to this discussion, adding a mild, yet significant, bit of humor to the statement.

Just wait till Zinn finishes his creation and ends up melting the jade sea and everything else in the area. Just in time for GW2 to release so about 2012 it should happen.

They said Solstice, the dragon is alive.
It's the announcement that open Beta for GW2 will begin December 21.

This may be farfetched but what I understand it could possibly mean that due to the positioning of the sun it would melt the jade sea and despite the strength of the sun's rays it doesn't kill the Dragon. Which in turn can awakening the Dragon for a new quest sometime during summer :-P.
Then again I can be on the same acid the dervs are on :-)

That's pretty ridiculous. I'm pretty sure it's just a prophecy about the GW2 expansion's dragon being awakened, but of course.....we wont know that for another 2 years at least.

I can't read that haiku. There is no good meter in it.

Murro got updated too and says something about updating us again tomorrow.
Nice to see they didn't forget about him while he was in "captivity" like they did the Scribe.

Its just saying the jade sea isn't melting and the forest turning back YET the dragon empire will not fall

how exciting. so when's that dervish update coming around...?

..and thus symbols the return of Captain Rujiyo. Our hero.

Haven't you heard? Dervish update is canceled. They're taking a page from GW2 and instead of updates, they're simply removing both scythes and Dervishes entirely from the game.
On a different note, I really don't like how the War in Kryta has just been sitting like this. I know that even Blizzard puts in new content in small installments so people don't all rush through it at once, but its been weeks since we've gotten a singular, relatively quick quest. And we still have tons of War Supplies taking up valuable storage space while we wait for them to implement the assumed NPC trader. Yes, this is Dragon Festival weekend which gives them an excuse to put off any progression with WiK for now. However, it'd at least be nice to have the WiK stuff updated at regular intervals.
Again, I'm not questioning free content, just the manner in which they're doing it. I don't care whether they speed it up or not, but I wish they were more direct regarding it.
Seems like this Dragon Festival will have some special significance, but I doubt it will be anything more than some special dialogue hinting at GW2. The mask will be just another to add to the pile that never gets used unless you're bored as hell and using GW as a chat room.
EDIT @ Below: Its probably more of a case of "that would take too many resources from GW2."

Blizzard also has gobs of monthly income to spend on programmers to put out those little tidbits of content. Jesus people. Guild Wars just has 3847987234 microtransactions to pay for stuff...they can't do it all!!!

Of course nothing will actually happen, but I expect some dialogue to allude to the fact that it will eventually happen, which it does.

Well, maybe it's some kickstart for the next "chapter" in GW:Beyond. Who knows?

Either it's an hint about a jade dragon in GW2.
Either it's about the empire of the dragon who is still alive (for now, maybe in 200 years too).
THAT would be interesting. I love the jade sea.

The dragon in the haiku could refer to the dragon empire, but the frozen jade sea never posed a threat to the nation before. Maybe global warming is causing climate change in Cantha.
Now that I think about it, maybe the greenhouse gases from the Charr industrial revolution will cause places like LA to flood and Zhaitan is just taking credit for it.
To Chicken To Die
I think the haiku says more about the past then the future.
But that the "dragon" isn't killed (as in a living being) or forgotten (as in a action/war).

GW:B might not take place in Cantha at all. Cantha's pretty much shutoff from the rest of the world, according to that story.
Personally I don't really like the WiK. Of course, maybe that's because I haven't finished EotN yet and can't access it. But even when I'm reading about it it doesn't seem all that appealing.

For WiK, I haven't followed the quests, but I can say that the new White Mantle are fun to play against. They're hard, but not in the overwhelming fashion of an elite area. You have to know what you do tought (even if that just means using discordway or something)

I wanted to let you guys know that I've had a paragon that has the braided hairstyle for 21 months. I noticed the "transparent hair" glitch within days after I created the character. For all I know, this problem has existed since Nightfall's launch date.
I'm sort of glad that they fixed this, but this is another example of an obvious bug that took months to resolve. If it takes over 18 months to fix a graphics bug in Nightfall, then this isn't exactly proving that you'll rush to fix issues in Guild Wars 2.
