Isit just me, of is the music of guild wars so damn relaxing?

When im stoned, sitting back to the orignal Prophecies soundtrack really does chill me out, aswell as bring back them awesome memories back from the day.

Anyone, similar?

I always loved Shing Jea Monastery music. Soothing, reminds me of GW's finest - awesome GvG, difficult and challenging PvE, more or less balanced classes.

I have had a GW music cd in my truck radio for as long as I can remember.

Disabled BGM after the first playthrough, can't remember what it's like. My own playlist suits me better

I love it all, especially the Canthan stuff. Jeremy Soule is very gifted.

It's a shame about DirectSong and DRM.

I haven't been able to hear my favourite piece in years, Lion's Arch's music.

It plays for a few seconds then immediately switches to some other track. Happens on every install of Guild Wars I've ever seen, ever since Nightfall was released.

I really love the prophecies soundtrack, in particular the track named "Over the Shiverpeaks". It makes me think about a pair of eagles flying over the mountains, talking to each other, as the two main instruments alternate themselves through the melody.

I used to like it, but after so many years the songs got old. So now I just turn off the music and play my own.

However, I do indeed love Pre music.

Factions has always had the best soundtrack of all the games (hopefully GW2 will retain some of this). That said I would never listen to GW music away from the game. There are just so many better game soundtracks, let alone compositions from other musicians.

No DRM anymore. Seriously. It's all in mp3 format now.
Failing that, and if you paid for it, just go gw.dat diving. It's all in there (128 kbps mp3).

While no doubt Jeremy Soule is a gifted composer, I find his works in subsequent GW titles quite monotonous; lacking the typical epic feel associated with Oblivion's theme or the serenity seen in his music for Neverwinter Nights.

For 99% of the time I've spent playing Guild Wars, I've had the music off. Not my kind of stuff.

Agree, and although completely off-topic the factions trailer is still so damn awesome, nothing even comes close.

Guild Wars has amazing music. Even more amazing unused music. Anet is just (no offense) horrible at utilizing it correctly.

Oh right, the only game that had better soundtrack than GW - Neverwinter Nights.

The music in Ascalon (Pre-searing) is some of my favorite. I have alot of fond memories of the Shiverpeaks music, also.
