To all who will be playing in PUGs (pick-up groups) in particular:

For those of us that would like to quickly form a PUG without having to be the leader of one this option is a must-have to make it a little easier to form groups with other people. I myself have hesitated adding a solo player in GW who is spamming "LFG" because I know that if I did it would make me the leader and in charge of looking for more players, sending and accepting all the invites, etc. Yes, there is the alternative Search Party window, but many players prefer to click on (or type) the player's name and then click the "+" sign in the Party Formation window to send the invite.

Or what if there is someone else in the party that is more experienced and/or filled with leadership qualities? Wouldn't it be swell if the current leader can assign him/her as the new leader at the top of the group list with a click of a button without having to disband the whole group, creating chaos, and trying to re-form it in the desired order? I would love a feature like this implemented in the Party Formation window somehow similar to how a Guild Leader assigns a new Guild Leader.

While we're on the topic of searching for groups, if there will not be a feature to assign new leaders within a group at least let there be an optional sound effect that chimes whenever someone tries to join your group via the Search Party window method. This is because the only invitation notice we currently get is a mere green sentence in the Chat window that is easily overlooked more often than not. This idea I would have posted in the Party Search Window section of Sardelac Sanitarium's Index of Ideas but when I click on the link it says "Invalid Thread Specified". (Moderator Edit - Shayne Hawke): Thread restored, thanks for pointing this out.

Thank you for reading my suggestions.

/signed for both...though more so with the former.
I also share your sentiments about being leader, it is scary and tiresome!
Sometimes I see another lone person in the same outpost spamming LFG and I want to add them...but then I'd be the leader so I usually end up going with h/h rather than waiting to form a full pug.

I'm spilt on the leader issue. I want to be leader becuz if I'm not, the leader will most likely add random people that will hinder our excursion rather than help (extreme low levels and/or adding 5 warriors).

However, if I'm the leader, I have to find more people and/or add proper heros (god knows the fellow PUG members never have good heros). And if the search lasts more than 2 minutes, current members will leave.

So in my case, your suggestion doesn't help. But, I support the idea for other people.

I dont have a problem with being party leader but its annoying when some elitist schlub joins and tries to take it over cause as far as hes concerned if he doesnt know you, you MUST be a noob.. I think more parties have broken up over that more than anything.

Let the leader be the leader.

Just to clear things up if you are the leader and want to stay the leader then this feature wouldn't affect you since it's up to the leader to make any changes. I don't know how often the feature would be used really, I guess it depends on the e-peen of the individual to be able to humbly relinquish their position to somebody else. lol

I know, right? That's why I tend to avoid partying with another solo player. It feels weird for me since I don't usually take charge. Omg, there have been times when there are like 3 or 4 solo players in a mission outpost who were "LFG", ... "LFG", ...but they wouldn't party up with each other since they were looking for an invitation from an actual group. haha, I thought that was funny.

What about giving the leader the ability to change player positions in general? Another time this would have been convenient was back in the day when we were all into the Urgoz's Warren trying to make balanced parties. I remember that we would have a set order of how we wanted all the professions lined up (like the monks would always be the bottom two on the list) so that it would be easier to target other party members by knowing where everyone was at.

Ok, well it's late in the game to be making these kind of suggestions and I know they aren't applicable to everyone but I feel better having made them anyhow. Thanks.
