Servers down?

Hi all,

I just purchased the GW trilogy yesterday and played for a few hours.

Today I'm trying to log-in but I keep getting several messages. First, it would say that I might have the wrong password and ID. I double checked and changed my password and it didn't work. Then I would try again and it would show a long "Connecting..." message and it still would give me the same message.

This morning I also received an email that said that my account was suspected of having illegal activity, but I highly believe that it is a phisher site. I had a lot of problems with NCsoft account security, especially with Aion, so I think they have a problem with site security again.

Is it possible that I was really banned? If I was banned, would I get a "You were banned" message? Or is the server down for everyone?

Guild Wars rarely has latency issues quite this bad, although they have been more frequent lately. They've released a statement saying that they're trying to fix it.

I tend to agree, I rarely have connection or lag problems, only during those stupid weekends that attract all the freaking bot farmers do I have a higher then normal ping and some minor lag.

guild wars seems to suck sometimes

I only live about 90 miles from Anet's servers, so I tend to not have many problems.

However.....GW's servers do suck sometimes.

yea the servers ted to fail alot when there are storms and such over in the server locations so you are subject to your weather on your end and theirs. so yea that typically forces the servers down. but yea the servers are usually too bad.. and getitng the game the other day might ahve beena bad time.. wehad one of the dragon festivals and had hundreds of districts open in SJM. so that could've been the problem.

and btw when you log in it would say that you were banend for <insert bannable offense here and error code>. so yea as far as i know they dont send u an email when you get banned.

For the most part, A-nets servers don't have that many issues, but it is an aging game and it does have LESS servers, so the speed isn't what it used to be. My boyfriend had some issues re-connecting, but it was a routing issue, not A-nets servers. So, yeah, more routing issues, less server ones.


As for the banned, you do not get an e-mail stating you were banned. Any e-mail you get is an attempt to get into your account and ignore them all. The only reason you'd get an e-mail from NCSoft about your banned account is if you were to submit a support ticket inquiring about it.
