Even with Charge! Blimm shows some embarassing suicidal tendencies.

One of the most irritating and stupid quests in the game.

I took the advice from this thread and went a bit over the top...

Mo/P - "Incoming!" + "Fall Back!"

Heroes:
W/P - "Charge!" + "Fall Back!"
P - "Incoming!" + "Fall Back!"
P - "Incoming!" + "Fall Back!"

= lololololol quest done.

I failed it one time then I took 2 warriors and one Paragon hero and gave them all the running skills and disabled everything else - ran from Lions Arch (because I failed the last part) to the village started the quests and it was a breeze.

The next quest though... I failed that three times can't handle all the mursaat right at the end :/

Ran it flawlessly with no speed buffs anywhere in the party... but I was using a spirit spammer, dropping a trail of spirits to slow the mantle hordes down.

I imagine a trapper could have fun with this as well.

edit : I imagine a team with multiple trappers could have a lot of fun, really...

This quest is a joke, and you should feel bad if you haven't figured out the easiest way to beat it by the fifth attempt.

Use three warrior heroes with Charge!, Fall Back!, and Make Haste!. Keep an eye on the three crucial NPCs and Haste them if they start falling behind, or even just drop your speed a little in the NKP, since they seem to follow their own route. Send a warrior back to distract/stall the incoming enemies, and load it up with Signet of Stamina and Endure Pain to make even more time for you and your allies.

Quest was a pain for me at first as well cause I didn't know I could just run it. I thought I had to fight :P

But overhearing conversation in Beetletun, I just grabbed 3 random heroes, gave them all a Paragon Secondary, then maxed out command and only put Fall Back on their bars. Didn't have to micro manage it or anything and they alternated it between themselves.

Made it through just fine, with no trouble at all. I was a SoS Rit and just summoned my signet every now and then to hold back the enemies, but didn't really need to at all, since we moved fast enough to outrun them.

Did it the 1st time with with a friend & it was hard.

Trick/Game design I discovered after doing it for x times in NM of course:

This quest can be done in parts:

1 & 2 = Load running skills & para/war heroes set to avoid combat. Skills = Incoming, Fallback, or Charge. Optional = Vocal Was Sogolon

3 = Just zone & talk to npc

4 = 3 single groups will spawn one at a time at the first 3 positions. They spawn when your party is close to Livia & company & they start to move. Dispose them 1 group at a time then move on to next position.

The 4th, 5th & 6th groups could be quite a challenge cos sometimes they spawn all at once or 2 groups at once. Just check Livia & company names are greyed out & they should be in the Nebo village.

If the party wiped its ok as long as Livia & company are at the Nebo village. The last 3 groups will move on to the entrance of North Kryta Province (east of map). Go there & dispose them then walk back to where Livia & company are & talk to Elder Sobel. Now just escort Livia & company to entrance of North Kryta Province & make sure your quest is updated.

5 = Load running skills & para/war heroes set to avoid combat (similar running skills as point 1). Start from Bergen Hot Springs & run into North Kryta Province. Talk to npc to update quest then run with Livia & company + natives to LA.

Hope this help & have fun.

Did this with a PUG..the whole team bringing fallback/haste. No fighting at all. Gave the npcs a headstart and stayed at a distance behind the npcs so that if the mob caught up one guy would suicide to delay them. We had a shadowform assa to stall also.. it was pretty hilarious cause everyone was freaking out and only one guy made it to the end XD

I just have one para with my ranger and that was all you need, incoming and fall back + vocal.
I changed my secondary to rt and created a spirit once in a while to slow the mob of mantle down more than enough.

Cripes! All you 'need' is one key! JUST PRESS 'R'.

Don't wait for them, don't attack anything, don't go wandering around the map looking at scenery. It's that simple. O.o

Maybe it's because I did it in easy mode? There's no bonus for doing it in hard mode, so why not.

There are so many foes, that you really don't have a chance to seriously delay the onslaught - speed boosts are the best solution.

i was able to complete this by using to warrior heroes that each had Charge, and alternated between them.

a note though - Blimm did fall behind and was about to die (he hadn't reached the bridge right before LA) but the quest counted as completed when Livia and Zinn reached LA, so i did not need to do it again.

Honestly, that's pretty much what I did, just ran. Although speed boosts do make it faster and easier regardless.

I tried like 100 times already
LOL, I only tried it once, with a 4 player team (myself and 3 heroes). My build wasn't nearly optimal, but I held them all at bay (near the first staircase), until the elite jades appeared, and pretty much bull-dosed me...

I'm thinking I can do it with 5 player team (4 heroes from 2 accounts) and efficient build...

EDIT - OOPS, I'm talking about the 5th and final quest above.

The 4th quest was cake, you just run (don't stop to fight - drop some dummy rituals along the way to distract them).

You know, I hate escort quests, but this one I actually had fun with. Went with a friend who is a Paragon, and I made my two heroes /P, so we always had Fall Back! up. Livia got stuck so we had to restart the escort bit, but other than that, it went off fine. Even at the end when the two of us realized that Livia and company took a different path to LA than we did. And even with that, they made it in just fine.

It's so easy, and I was incredibly amused at watching all of these tons of red dots appear all over the compass.

That quest is easy as long as you take few paragon/war skills to go faster. If you are not warrior , just take Incoming , fallback and make hast ( for npc who s too much behind ) . If you're a warrior , take charge , fallback and make haste.

You don't really need heroes for it if you got those skills equipped .

Aww, I really enjoyed this quest, particularly the first time. Seeing all those dots bearing down on you as you flee for your life, throwing Koss under the bus when necessary, it was a lot of fun. I do bring spellbreaker now on a monk in case Blimm decides to be suicidal, it has a tendency to save his ass from all the slowing hexes the WM throw around.

I agree 100% with the OP.

I swear if it wasn't for GW1 storyline and my wanting to finally see the history setting up GW2, I wouldn't bother with this.

I can't say how much I appreciate you posting those builds. THANK YOU I was able to manage it with 2 W/P and following Blimm like a hawk. Your build made tedious mission lacking any kind of fun into something I never have to do again.

Nothing quite like the heroic feeling one gets repeatedly running from Bergen Hot Springs to get to the zone gate for the final leg of the mission. Talk about ruining any sense of of dramatic effect that this mission might have had and turning it into a less interesting version of Groundhog Day.

As much as I agree the mechanics of the mission were incredibly boring and had no creativity at all (it would have been far better for them to make it a solo mission and give the player character a unique skill bar with all the required skills on it, having them either boost the escorted or distract the White Mantle, maybe a combination of both at different points), I'm glad they represented a plot development (the escorting of Zinn and Blimm for the final battle) with game play.

It's probably too late now (considering the Live Team is mostly done for), but in future it would be a nice change for GW:B to continue representing plot developments like this with unusual game play objectives (no fighting) but next time give us pre-determined skill bars that are designed to make the encounters fun and meet the requirements. Design an experience not an objective. I don't think anyone who brought three charge or incoming heroes was particularly impressed by this part of the content.
