Attempting To Make This Work: Advice?

Hello everyone ...

I'm attempting to utilize a build that incorporates conditions as well as heavy dmg, using Seeping Wound, and seem to be having a problem with ene management.

I've used Wiki for guidelines for a while, but like to come up with my own builds, but seem to be having an issue with making this work.

I'm attempting to get in two conditions (bleeding and poison) along with Seeping Wound for heavy degen and dmg.

I'm attempting to u uses Unsuspecting Strike (for heavy initial dmg), Seeping Wound and Twisted Fangs, with at least one other skill for ene management (sometimes two) and other dmg/ene-returning skills, plus one healing. Also attempting to get knockdown in the build.

However, I seem to be having a problem keeping up this build in terms of ene, and it's frustrating, because I'd really like to a similar solid build that I've had used so efficiently against me. My ene is only 32 right now, as I'm using more health runes than ene.

I've been absolutely wasted by Sins using Seeping Wound, with Falling Spider etc. and other skills that seriously whacked me hard and killed me fast.

I made a Sin specifically for PvP (though started it in PvE), and would love it if someone could give me some advice on a solid Seeping Wound build, mixed with other heavy damage.

The one Sin I had waste me also used Signet of Toxic Shock. Not sure how many points they had in what, but between the conditions, Seeping Wound and Signet of Toxic Shock, and the dmg, I was dead fast! Ha ha.

I'm also attempting to incorporate Entangling Asp early on in the chain.

Ok, just some quick advice, as this seems to be a common issue with new players, never, EVER use a PvE character for PvP. There is no point at all whatsoever and anything you earn with a PvP char you can transfer to a PvE char (titles, balth faction, gold, w/e). It is infinitely easier to play PvP with a PvP character because you can easily change runes, customize weapons and armor when with a PvE character this would be extremely expensive. For example, on a PvP character you can easily put on superior vigor runes and expensive inscriptions such as "Forget Me Not" and change it when you need to (which is quite often). This would take expert or perfect salvage kits on a PvE character and a lot of headache and time. Make a PvP character and press "J" on your keyboard and you will see what I'm talking about.

Firstly, each to their own on whether they wish to play PvP on a PvE/PvP character. Personally, I play PvP on my PvE Assassin; some people who role-play in different ways - I have the wish to do everything on one character for instance.

I had a break from GW for about half a year (Sept09-March/April10) and I seem to recall SW being a little different. I do not think it had the snare on it like it does now. However, I suppose it has not changed all that much.

Like you, Dagger Goddess, I liked the idea of a build that would output large damage induced by conditioning on a single target in the form of Seeping Wound. Only, the following is of my favourite variety - solid dag/crit build.

I used to use something along those lines and just pieced that together there. This build lacks protection for sure and is not one I would use for Fort Aspenwood for instance, just on the account that I find myself re-capping Amber Mines often and require Flashing Blades, for instance, to do so successfully.

But there is a build with big damage, stance removal, unblockability (to a certain extent), knock down, snaring, bleeding and poison.

With bleeding and poison providing -7pips thats 14dps along with 21dps (from SW with Critical Strikes at 12 lasting 6 seconds) gives us 35dps.

As for energy management, with SW costing so highly it can be a problem. For the build - here - you would certainly need Zealous daggers and I would advise "I Have The Power".

Your idea of bringing some Deadly Arts into play is good. SoTS is a nice armour-ignoring blast of damage. Just be cautious of energy management.

Before they nerfed the energy I learned a few tricks you can do with assassin stuff. Use Glyph of immolation to set the guy on fire when you use seeping, catch up to it then you can use the lotus attacks, or a cheap chain leading up to critical strike. You can take conjure fire so you do damage when not using attacks. A decent chain might be GoI+seeping>black lotus>gold fang>crit strike(or start with jag strike). You could also fill out with a couple cheap targeted spells so you don't waste the last 2 uses of GoI, dancing daggers and/or entangling asp, maybe mantis touch.

Another option, though it has a long cooldown, there's an enchant that gived you a bitof energy on a dual attack, pre-prot with that, use the GoI+seep, black spider>trampliing>falling lotus/spider>any dual.

Also since I like playing with GoI, mark of instability or whatever the hex where you KD someone on a dual attack can be used on a cheap hex based chain.

Mark of Instability is very nice and can eliminate the need for Horns of the Ox as well as cast a hex upon a foe which is needed for some skills to bring about full effect. It also is a non-attribute skill which makes it versatile for any sort of build.

Also, I would probably agree with Bobby in his apprehension to use Entangling Asp due to its high mana cost and high recharge rate. Maybe in use with Assassin's Promise it could be ok but I tend to avoid it at any rate; though I have tried it before in some builds and one would be wrong to not encourage experimentation with builds.

This has Crippling, Knockdown, Poison, Bleeding, and Deep Wound, with great energy Management. With Critical Eye, and Zealous Daggers, you return 5 energy every crit, which is MORE than enough. For the optional slots, I recommend an interrupt, and a speed increase. I prefer Distracting Blow, and Rush for these two slots.

In MY OPINION, Seeping Wound is too costly in PvP, especially when there is heavy hex removal, which you will see a LOT.
