Videocard freezing issue.
ChocoboLIVE
Catalyst 10.6 random reboot/bsod(hard sound).
Catalyst 10.5 random reboot/bsod...
Catalyst 10.3 random reboot
Using Catalyst 10.2 freeze locks...(google it one person has that problem too but no answer).
What can I fix those stuff? Using i7 920, 6gb memory and Ati HD5870 2gb version. I had never those issue before on GTX295. Btw I use Driver Sweeper.
Edit: Cat 10.6 and 10.5 has both half purple mix screen mix on the left side when using 120 hz monitor... This happen everytime by rebooting computer after shutdown over hours pace.

do these freezes/reboots happen during a game or when exactly? Is there any info on the BSOD or in the dump file?
ChocoboLIVE
Freezes/reboots happen during idle/gaming/flash videos/screensaver on. BSOS only give this 10000101 type error. I am using now Ati Catalyst 10.2 atm.

1 - it could be an overheating issue. Is the fan on the video card running and is it free of dust and debris?
2 - even if the system reports a problem with the video driver, it may actually be caused by a conflict with another driver and/or windows patch. Make sure Windows and all your drivers are up to date.
3 - it could be that the video card is bad.
4 - it could even be a power supply problem. Is the power supply rated enough to handle the card? Is it's fan running and free from dust and debris?

1 - clean and never goes over 75 degree on furmarks..., 1000/1300 furmark 70 % fan to keep under 75 degree by running furmarks(For some reason it will freeze/reboot if get over 75 degree) . I am using non-overclock for now.
2 - Windows 7 fully update along with x58 driver, creative driver and ffdshow avist 60 fps smooth options.
3 - Yea possibly :S
4 - I had previous GTX295 videocard and it has never fail me in any beta driver+whql, I am using psu Corsair HX850 which are well known recommend-buy in any overclock freak
And at 10.2 it happen only freezing when watching stream then toward youtube, while I played few games in between. Though it only happen yesterday...
Edit: Starting computer and got the purple stuff artifact again on the left side... fixed by rebooting computer again though...

do you have a second GPU to test in your system.... or even onboard graphics? It sounds like either the GPU (hardware or driver related) or possibly the PSU has a bad rail in it and can't deliver steady and stable power anymore. I'd say the GPU is more likely though...

I forgot to mention - re-seat the video card in it's slot. (Take it out and put it back in.)
ChocoboLIVE
Re-seat the card. And appearing Xai mouse + other 2 usb drawer cause to purple artifact, with one usb connect. I don't see this problem... Weird the motherboard called BloodRage are design for overclocking.

The Bloodrage is a beautiful board, one of the best available, period.
The GPU is damaged. You will want to RMA it as soon as possible. Purple artifacting is typically an indicator of either a defective texture unit, or damaged GDDR5 module(s). Replace it immediately.
ChocoboLIVE
Oki thx I will do it.

The question is WHAT is trying to make changes to the Start menu...
Elder III
have you tried a good registry editor/cleaner?
ChocoboLIVE
Using Regseeker, Norton Utililies. Auto-search delete them but coming back each minute.

Hmm, the owner of the shop has tested extremely and didn't found any trouble... Though I sended today email back to him the card is going crash if running game like Saint Row 2 in high resolution or any game that take videocard memory hogs. As I know he use test monitor of 640x480... Sended almost 1 week and haven't single action RMA...
