Like the title says what mods do you need to make a caster shield for a mesmer like inscription wise and shield handles?

For inscriptions you would want the +10 armour against a damage type inscription and maybe a +30 handle. You should have a set in your inventory with +10 armour against each damage type

iirc

Inscription is either +10AL vs. <damage type> (you'll want a few to cover various damage types*) or if you want something less effective but generic you can go for -5/20%.

*If you're going to PvP, you'll want all of them. In PvE you can just go for the main/common threats such as fire.

Handle is probably +30health or something like that.

You should weapon swap to casting set if having energy problems. However, you should have some sort of e-management in your build and you shouldn't spam. Think about this, many monks have the same or less energy as a mesmer and can still effectively keep up an entire team (good ones that is).

Depends on where you're playing but stuff from the inspiration magic line such as drain enchantment, waste not want not, power drain. If you're not taking a lot of damage switch to casting set and if you are switch to shield.
