question concerning the "Chapters"

hello, I'll be downloading the trial tonight. However, I have a question concerning how the "chapters" work.

I've read the sticky and I know that each GW "Chapter" is a stand alone game. My question is, once I finish the original (prophecies?) and move onto the next one (factions or NF or Eotn), does my character stats from prophecies follow me, like it would in a traditional expansion? Or would I be required to start over with my character each time I migrate to the next chapter?

Thanks

Welcome.
Campaigns (I guess calling them chapters would be wrong since chapters are subsequential) are stand alone for you can play one alone and be fine, but are correlated as you can freely travel between them, anytime you want and back. They are continents you are traveling to, so your character is always the same, just traveling

When you reach level 10 you can freely move between the chapters you have, you don't have to do things in any particular order - your character isn't locked to a chapter.

Each campaign gives you the choice of bringing an existing character to it and starting from a certain point past the beginner/tutorial or starting a new character. Once any character has reached the "port city" (Lion's Arch, Kamadan, Kaineng Center) for a campaign and fulfilled any other requirements, they can obtain a quest to take them to another campaign.

^ note that being atleast level 10 is only required for access to eotn.
Other campaigns are available at any level, provided you get to the root town (as I call it, other players have other names for them) of each game and do the quest to travel to the new campaign.

Thanks. I'm pretty excited about GW. I've done soooo much reading today on f2p MMO's that I'm crosseyed. I've looked and Dragons and Dungeons online, Allods Online and Runes of Magic.

But, everything I read keeps pointing me back to GW. So, I'm waiting for 30 more minutes and I'm gonna go an download the trial.

I'm done with p2p games for now and cancelled my sub. to WoW and EveOnline. Just seems a bit redundant to pay a monthly sub. for content you have seem a million times over the years.

My plan, if I do like the trial, is to get the Trilogy and follow up with eotn later.

Thanks again for your help. I'm off to read more about other aspects of the game.

Just a note, and I swear I'm not a seller, if you buy all together in one pack it's cheaper than even buying the trilogy by itself

Other than you have to perform the attribute quests for the chapter that the character was created in order to get all of your attribute points.

@Mintha Syl - I think the Complete Collection is only available in Europe. In North America you can only get the Trilogy which doesn't contain EotN.

Really? Don't they do international delivery for North America? Sad thing, I didn't know

Yeah, the trilogy with eotn are my options.

Been playing - tried Necro, Ranger and War. I'm really liking Necro.

Now, time to search the forums about "attributes."

I'm still on the trial atm - but plan on getting the full version soon. Kinda quesy about PvP but, that is a ways away stil.
