A message every 10-20 minutes taking up one line isn't really spam.

If seeing a message a few times an hour is annoying, I'm guessing you've never played one of those games where kiddies have access to mommy and daddy's credit card and a cash shop that sells the ability to plague every player that's logged in with trade spam and other bullshit until their credit limit is reached. Those messages are usually in an obnoxious color and can't be ignored since it's considered premium content. That is annoying.

Those messages could be annoying for some other reasons ( yay , team i left is holding ; yay , lucky guy we beat in uw holds all 1v1 fights , ... ) but apart of that , having 1 message every 12mn if not more isn't really a spam ..

It's not really noticeable, unless of course you are all alone in a town, with no one talking to you. So it's really not something important to implement.

and if you want to talk about spam go to kama amd1 in the afternoon.. thats spam. i guareentee you wont be able to see the last halls message by the time it rolls around w/ all that spam.

If those messages bother you that much, then I couldn't even imagine what Monastery, LA, and Kamadan chat do to you. Must be overboard with all that spam. Hopefully you keep emotes off and don't notice the guy spamming dance sixty times in a row for some odd reason.
The messages barely show up and they aren't groundbreaking that they will ruin your game in any way, unless your chat box fills your entire screen.

I do wonder why anet never bothered to remove the messages after they made UW/Fow non HoH wins dependant . Before it was good to see HoH wins and how many wins an areas ( usa/euro/asian etc ) district needed but now its not really needed - especially in pve .

Being able to turn off green text in general wouldnt hurt. If I afk in guild hall i'd rather have lines of what guildys are sayin/pms not who was holding for the last 4 hours

I think it's better to have an uncheck message option unless it's really important like updates and such.

I actually watch those while in town. If I see someone achieve a title, (Leg. Vang., Leg, Cart., or Leg. Guard.) I send them a congrats. IMHO, certain titles should be recognized.
