Kurzick/Luxon Faction Transfer
Pony Slaystation
I searched the forums, and didn't find anything like this, so I thought I would post my idea...
Don't you hate those Zaishen Combat quests that give you 5000 Kurzick faction and 5000 Luxon faction? Or have you ever done a vanquish of a Jade Sea/Echovald Forest area, and then realized that you already had 10k faction for the other alliance?
Well here's my idea:
Imagine that you're in a Luxon guild, and you have some Kurzick Faction. I'm proposing that they add an NPC, sort of like a Kurzick/Luxon faction converter. With this, you could take you're Kurzick faction and convert it into Luxon faction, or vice versa. To avoid any possible exploitations (maybe somebody found a really easy way to get Luxon faction, but wants Amber because it's worth more), there would be a small percentage of you're faction that would be used up, maybe about 10%, in order to have you're faction converted. This would make it much easier for people who want to work on maxing out a faction title, but still do everything they want (Urgoz, Deep, VQ's).
Thoughts or comments on this?

Tbh, I like the idea, but it's really late into the game to implement this. Everyone that cares about getting max Kurzick or Luxon, even both, already has it.
Although, I think if you vanq a Lux area, you shouldn't be able to convert it and vise versa, but that's just me.
I'm on the fence about this one.

Or simply eliminate the "due to your show of support for Side X, you have lost faction with Side Y."

I couldn't find an idea exactly like this (the closest was this one), so I will re-open this thread for discussion.

i really like this idea. i hate it when im VQing for titles and im in a luxon guild so all my effort when i VQ in a kurzick area all that faction is wasted.
So /signed b/c this is a great idea, but its 1~2yrs late.

Ouch, I'm going to be the pebble in the shoe.
I still believe in the helping a faction thing, so I think if I'm helping a faction I really shouldn't gain something from the other one. Sure, it would make things easier, especially for me who still have to go almost all the way in the title, but still I don't like it for the stated reason.
For the problem with gaining points when you have some from the other side, it's not much of an effort to check beforehand every time, and spend what you have.
And for the quests that give you "5000 Kurzick faction and 5000 Luxon faction" they're giving youu both only to let you choose which one to spend cause they can't really know which one you're interested in. But sure it's not made to have them both.

Currently, there are many more players allied to the Kurzicks than the Luxons. This is most apparent inside competitive missions, like Alliance Battles, where Kurzick players have to wait in a long queue before being able to play a match, while Luxon players can get a match right away.
There are several downsides to this. First of all, waiting is not fun, which should be obvious. Secondly, many players who wait in the queue tend to AFK, and forget about the match completely. This means than Kurzicks are at a disadvantage in the case of AFKers, which is not uncommon. Also, a long queue puts off many players, meaning the format as a whole it's enjoyed by as many people as it could be.
There are technical limitations, and resource limitations that prevent some suggestions, like pulling multiple teams from the same Faction, and competing them against each other as a "training exercise", giving them the faction they would earn otherwise.
What I suggest is a single NPC that allows players to convert either Faction or Faction-materials to the other side's Faction type, at the cost of some gold or a skill point.
If you think lore will get in the way, read my NPC dialogue in the links. It wraps it up nicely.
The main benefit for faction transfer would be for the PvP arenas, and any other benefit is a bonus.

Heck if you want to keep it all good lore wise, make it so you can't do this til you beat factions. all the NPC's think you are a hero after that point. if that isn't good enough for peeps here, i would be happy to split hairs about 1000 other things lore-wise in this game that are murky at best.

Pretty sure this has become next to pointless since the introduction of Imperial faction.
MithranArkanere
Even the rewards in Zaishen quests got changed, so it's practically pointless now.

After one gains max faction titles/skills/amors there is simply no other use of lux or kurz faction except for ally rep. So inturn lets say you are luxon alligned and you have 50k kurz faction...that 50k faction is basically worthless. (using faction for jade/amber/scrolls is basically worthless) It would be nice if one could pay a "faction launderer" to convert to worthless 50k kurz faction into 40k lux faction that you could there increase your allies rep.
Shayne Hawke
There is very little left to do in this game that will cause you to end up with a non-trivial amount of faction from the allegiance you don't care to support, if your true intention is indeed to focus on supporting a specific allegiance. If such is the case, you're doing something wrong, because there are very efficient methods for earning one of either type of faction, but none for both at once. The lore reasons above still stand as well as for why there shouldn't be any kind of direct exchange. Kurzick/Luxon -> Imperial -> Luxon/Kurzick is not okay either due to lore or the potential of Kurzick/Luxon -> Imperial -> Balthazar, which is not okay for separate reasons.
Essence Snow
I can assure you that doing all vqs on 10 toons will cause one to have more than a trivial excess of either faction.
Rise of Cpu
having a faction converter will just mess up the idea of farming for your titles, especially when getting them for hom..

I guess neither of ya'll have an ongoing surplus of faction (lux or kurz) of which you are not alligned.

If you are not interested in outpost control, then that's a different story.
As for rewards from Vanquishing, there's the title, the HoM points, the ZCoins and extra rare drops from HM. There's no need to also turn the faction points into the other kind for extra rewards.
