Hello all

Could someone tell me what PVE and PVP guilds are able to do in game besides the obvious features?

Thank you

The designation "PvP" or "PvE" is something that each guild decides on their own. It's where their primary focus is, it has nothing to do with what members have access to. The only thing that restricts a character from going into PvE areas is if it's created as a PvP character. PvE characters can participate in PvP.

Each guild is different in what they require of their members (if anything), so the best way to find out about a particular guild is to talk to members of that guild and visit their web site/forums, if they've got them.

Thanks for the answers.

Guild drama is found everywhere.
And I am wondering whether to join one or start one.

Start a new guild only if you already have a lot of friends (better if they are irl friends) to bring in this new guild.

Join a guild that matches your requires in game
such as if you are title hunting- join a title hunting guild.. etc.

I found a guild from a friends recommendation and it proved a good idea they got me through the tougher parts of the game.
4 plus years on and we seem to be doing our own thing probably because I stuck with pve and never really joined the others in pvp.

Decide what you want to concentrate on in the game and try to hook up with players/parties doing that.

If the playing experience proves good ie neither of you annoyed the other too much ask to take part in more guild experiences with a view to joining.

Point is until you know the members of a guild a little, joining is a bit hit and miss.

This is great advice. If you don't already have a group of friends who will stick with your guild and play on a regular basis, forming your own guild is an exercise in frustration.

The best thing to do is to go to Guild Connections and look at the Guild looking for players forum. Read back several pages until you find some that appeal to you. PM them and talk about what you are looking for in a guild and see if you fit. You can also post your own wants in a Looking for Guild forum.

As for the good things a guild can do for you:

supply a pool of people to play with
give you a place to donate faction
supply a central location for NPCs

If you're looking to play with other people, join an existing guild.

Me, I prefer to play alone, and I got sick of randoms inviting me to their crappy guild just because I didn't have a ticker beside my name, so I created one just to throw them off the scent.
