Hey there all, really trying to get back into this game before gw2 comes out but I've run into a problem. It may just be my bad luck but I haven't really found many friendly or helpful players or even talkative ones. I would like to find a few people to get to know and run around with end game, ideally a nice guild with active players. Is this impossible at this time? I would like to buy eotn and play through it but I'm worried I'm just gonna waste my cash and not get anyone to play with, which is what I really miss about this game. Also I'd like to get my gf into the game as something we can do together since we both have very hectic schedules gonna be hard to do if its only us playing. End of my rant/whatever you want to call it.

Yes , there are lots of players online , and some friendly players too in the America District. If you want a good guild, you should join The Imperial Guards of Istan [TIGI] (that's the guild I'm in , and all the players are friendly) , just add Hara Makoto to your friends list ,and when he/she is online , just send him/her a message!

i can answer this question w/ one place. Kamadan.
and for the general pve its a preety average player support, but w/ so many campigns and mission outpost the player population is preety spread out. So joining a good guild is very important, and if you are at a loss dont go w/ people and just run a good hero bar and bring some henchies. You can roll through jsut about the whole game w/out the help of anyone.
So dont feel like you have to go w/ lots of ppl all the time, but if you look in the american districts thats where most of the ppl hang out.

Actually, me and my two friends have been playing together for about 3 years now. We do high-end PvE, aswell as low-end PvE and some PvP. We are currently looking to extend our core group with atleast one member. We are able to, and somewhat willing to help and we are Very talkative. As you seem to get very random people as members if you just stand in Kamadan spamming recruit messages I reckoned it would be a better idea to look for someone like this. We would gladly see you and your girlfriend as a pleasant addition in our Guild Roster.

If you feel like giving it a try you should pm me at: Gypsie Ether

Good luck!

You can try the Guild Connections section of guru. Check out several pages of Guild Looking For and/or post your own thread in Looking for Guild.

There's PLENTY of 'people' left in Guild Wars to play the game. Heck... When you're in a town, click that blue bar on your party menu that says "add hero" and you're all set. :]

Uh.... You're in a guild and you don't even know if the person you're suggesting is a boy or girl? Some "good" guild you have there. You don't even 'know' your fellow guild members.... :\

Either that or he/she is not specifying someone elses gender on guru - they might consider it a private matter you know ^^

Unless you use Ventrilo or TeamSpeak, it's almost impossible to know someone's gender unless they tell you (and sometimes even that doesn't help). I know several female guild leaders who don't tell everyone that they are women due to harassment and command issues. Personally, I don't care. If I have issues with a member, I just boot them and come down hard on the officer who invited them. But each to their own method.

I doubt he knows still though. TIG is a huge alliance, been running for years now.

OT:

Yes, plenty still play. The only areas that are dead are some missions, and high-end PvP (even then they both get busy at times.)

I think the only thing you are sure about is when you see male chras: I don't think a female would do a male char...or am I wrong?
This thing of not being sure about people's gender its kinda disturbing imo anyway.

Returning to the OP..what others said. Entering some american district by itself gives the idea that gw player are not anyway extint. Lol I was freezed in shock first time I rezoned in an american district.

I actually know a girl with a male Necro. She says male Necros are "sexy"; whatever. >_>

Some female players like male characters. We had a poll on that subject a while back. Here is a link. http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/m...+male+fema le

Yeah...I'm new to that guild too! I don't know every member. So if you don't know what you're talking about just...oh drop it! Probably you're just a kid!

Thank you all for the helpful replies, it definitely gives me more faith in the community. As we start playing I will look up a few guilds that have posted here, again thank you.

ohnoes! He called me a kid! What ever shall I do!? Q___Q

I'm actually 23, guy. And btw, you say you're "new to the guild" and yet you make it out to be a great guild? How can you judge a guild and classify it as "good" when you just joined it and know nearly nothing about it? Make more sense, "kid".

Plenty of good people in the game, you just have to be patient and be outgoing.

If you join a PuG, talk! Not the annoying sort of talk where you spew out Chuck Norris facts or talk about how you hate this or hate that or hate how people hate this and hate hate hate. Don't make fun of people. Don't flame someone and don't be the stuck-up person in the group who thinks that their way is the right way and that's that.

In short: Be polite and try to be pleasant.

Everyone is right about finding a guild. Guilds are almost essential to making friends and doing end-game content. No one likes to PuG through something that could potentially end up taking 2 hours and then wiping. Not to mention, guild/alliance chat is an awesome way to socialize and meet people. Don't feel ashamed to guild hop until you find something that you like. Just be nice about it and instead of immediately leaving, wait until the guild leader is online and thank them for inviting you but politely explain that you're looking for something else. Believe me, it would make you look like a saint.

Give guilds time though. If you join a guild and only a few people are online, don't automatically leave and claim that it's too inactive. Give it a few days. People do have schedules and catering to your needs probably isn't at the top of their to-do list since they don't even know that you exist.

Also, don't join a guild and expect to automatically be promoted to officer. Especially if you're joining a guild that already has several established members. If you're looking to help with the foundation of a guild and possibly be promoted to officer right off the bat, you're going to have to put up with a guild that has fewer members for a while. AND you're going to have to actually recruit and help build the guild up.

All in all, you're going to have to work at finding good people. There's a sea of jerkfaces out there and finding the good ones can be a tedious, but rewarding, task.

Good luck!
