VQ Kurz area that Lux dominate
ashes
Why on earth do i get Kurz faction for VQ'ing an area that normally belong to Kurz, but that Lux are currently dominating?

Because it's a kurzick area?
The only thing other than AB and town traders that the lux/kurz border movement thing changes it the shine NPCs. So, in answer to your question, you get Kurz faction because it's a Kurzick area, and the reward does not change due to the "line".

Whats the deal in "owning" the area then?
Strange imo

But back on topic, the border changes due to AB PvP matches. Depending on whether the Luxons or Kurzick are more dominant, the border moves, so you might have Luxon NPCS in charge of Kurzick areas.
But as AB stands atm, the border doesn't change very dramatically anymore.

Your individual kill faction will be Luxon when you get the bounty from a Luxon NPC.

There are two ways to get faction from Vanquishing:
1. Vanquish rewards: these are the rewards you always get when you complete a vanquish and scales with the number of foes killed. This includes experience, gold and sometimes faction. This reward is tied to the location of the area vanquished. Thus, vanquishes in the Echovald Forest will always yield a Kurzick faction reward and vanquishes in the Jade Sea will always yield a Luxon faction reward.
2. Bounties: these can be received from NPCs. The type of faction gained is dependant on the type of NPC that offers the bounty. Luxon Priests will offer a bounty that always results in Luxon faction when killing an enemy. Shrines next to controllable outposts in Factions will spawn Kurzick or Luxon Priests depending on which side owns the outpost. Shrines not next to outposts will always spawn Priests based on the geographic location (i.e. Kurzick in the Echovald Forest, Luxon in the Jade Sea).

gotta agree w/ that it does hurt a lil bit after reading that <3.
but yea its the area itself.. its like a conquered place. It may be ruled by the luxons.. but its undoubtadedly a kurzick place @ its heart. That and ur still in their damned forest so it has to be kurzick @ heart >.>.

Reason for owning a town - Bragging rights when recruiting , i think merchants in that town/outpost are cheaper for that alliance and i believe they are in an area only that alliance can enter - also firework displays.Best way is to check wiki on the subject ( unless a person knows and will share in a reply ).
Slightly off topic .. why the hell do we have to pay for the bounties in lux/kurz areas these days - nf and eotn bounties are free ... cant anet be rather nice and remove the cost.Nothing worse than forgetting your 100g and having to rezone and appologise to team - also constantly having to say to team .. Everyone have their 100g ? .
But thats just me lol

Grief, you get one sentence slightly jumbled and you get all kinda flak. Anyways, reason you pay for the bounties is because it has a decent +25hp and +3 health regen bonus which is un-dismissable.
