or do dervishes seem to have many less skills than other proffesions ? whichc is one of many restrictions cast upon us by the evil areanet :P
Mintha Syl
Being from nightfall, they have no skill from prophecies and factions, that's it.
MidnightOokami
Dervish has 85 skills and Paragon has 85 skills. Plus they showed up in Nightfall so they didn't get many skills either so I guess make the best with what you got.
Benderama
its not the "evil arenanet" its the fact that they came out more recently than other professions. also this was closer to the time when tehre were already 1000+ (or nearly) skills which needed to be fairly balanced. there are enoguh derv skills to make a fun build still though, more than can be said for paragons at the moment imo.
mistokibbles
Dervishes are still pretty broken. *cough* wounding strike *cough cough* They don't have a maintainable IAS, but the ranger doesn't either and they're still highly effective.

The problem is not only that they have less skills, but their skills just do same things.
Both Scythe Mastery elites deal with Deep Wound. They have a zillion of self-defense skills when all you need in PvE is high damage. They have a zillion of useless gimmick skills that do nothing even in PvP, and are absolutely useless in PvE (look at Wind).
And as for them not having Prophecy or Factions skills, that was no excuse not to give them more skills in Nightfall but it's another topic. But as I said, you can do a lot even with 85 skills.. if they did something.

Its just unfortunate they decided to abandon adding more expansions.
Don't get me wrong it was an impossible situation adding a new map 2 new classes and appropriate skills twice a year.
With the newer classes falling ever further behind when it came to skills.
What could have been done was to somewhat balance the numbers of skills I thought they might be going to do this with eye but they didn't.
But its no matter they all have access to the other skills as secondaries and gw2 will be with us soon well soonish

All the discussions about why the Derv doesn't have this and that only shines more light onto the dual profession style.
So, a Derv may not have traps, but a D/R does!

i wasnt suggesting i wish us to have traps i was simply saying another class, the ranger, which is also seen by some as obsolete has other uses such as traps and interups and pets , whereas the dervish has nothing special anymore.
Haggis of Doom
Do you really want the Ranger on your team to bring traps...?

like i said i didnt mean i want traps , im saying they have like a special thing

Eh? Dervish is one of the most flexible classes around. You can make tanking builds, healing builds, nuking builds and dps-builds, all without even having to use a secondary.
