Hey, could you guys give me a link to any laptops [or desktops] that can run probably run guild wars 2. The reason I wanted a laptop was because it is much easier to bring to LAN partys.

Go buy the best laptop you can afford with the most powerful cpu and graphics, and it should play GW2.

Look for at least:
- Core2Duo, Core i3, i5 (or AMD equivalent)
- 4GB RAM (DDR2 or DDR3)
- GeForce 240m or better (ATI 5400 mobility series equivalent)

my advice@ wait til GW2 comes out, unless you need the new laptop for something else. otherwise you may end up paying more than you need or have a laptop that isn't powerful enough.

Unless you need the notebook now or for some reason, like a student loan etc., you need to buy it now, wait till the game is out or at least until we know the requirements.

If you can run Crysis on Medium smoothly, it'll run GW2 smoothly. From the screen shots, ANET knows to not create that beastly of a engine.

This is a great laptop to start, if you were to get this, put on an i7 if you want, 4gb ram, and the 500gb hard drive if youd like, its your preference, everything else, up to you.
Remember, some laptop may have the same specs as this, but they arent built the same, and probably wouldn't last.

Something along the line of the Asus G73Jh, the alienwares, yeah overpriced but powerful (and if you call you can negotiate and shave 20% off the price), the clevos with the MR5870 or the GTX480M and a few others should go through GW2 without any problems. However, like i mentioned earlier, if you don't need it now it would be best to wait. Besides the i7 like the 720qm have low clock speeds, while it shouldn't be an issue, the newer mobile i7 give better performance.

I'm gonna bet that a system with 2 to 4 (2 might be cutting it low for the year 2011) gigs of ram, 2.6 to 3 ghz multicore CPU and radeon hd 2000 series to hd 4000 series wih around 512 to 1 gb of vram will run gw2 just fine. But that is a wild guess.

My guess is. if you can run Aion fully maxed out with no real problems and a good fps. you WILL beable to run GW2 fearly good if not max.

If you can run Oblivion fairly well chances are you can probably run GW2. they are both using the Havoc engine and the graphics don't look too much different. Maybe not as good, considering Oblivion isn't totally persistent (without the Open Town mods), and doesn't have the MMO aspect, but you should run it fine. My suggested Minimum specs:
1GB Ram
Duo Core (at least) proccesor.

That should be enough to run it on minimum graphics, keep in mind your performance WILL alter depending on your PING too. So a fast internet connection is always useful.

Another game with approximately the same specs
MSN (or another chat program)
Internet Explorer (or another wbe browser)
iTunes (or WMP)
This should give you a general idea if your Laptop will handle it.

Err.... Oblivion is really easy to run. Guild Wars 2 will be much more demanding than Oblivion, by leaps and bounds. The very fact that GW2 is being brought in with DX10.1 capability, and Oblivion is over 4 years old should be a clear indicator.
The 7300 wouldn't even be able to boot GW2, and suggesting "just a dual core" is madness, as a Pentium D may not even be able to start the game. I'd say a 2.0GHz Core2 Duo or AMD equivalent will be required. 2GB of RAM minimum as well, and about 15-25GB free space on your HDD.

Eh, are we talking Oblivion at 1024 x 768 with low settings or 1080p with everything maxed and high res texture packs installed? Cuz I play Oblivion with the latter and I can't maintain 60 fps outdoors....... and I'll eat my hat if my current rig doesn't turn GW2 over and go postal on it's posterior.

I bet I'll get GW2 to run just fine on my laptop:
Turion X2 Neo @1.6 ghz
4 GB DDR 800 ram
Radeon 4330 GPU
Not max settings, but well enough to play.
