Update July 29th
Franksalot
people whine cause anet are stupid... they make obviously OP changes... which make people whine cause... OP builds with the new buffed skills flood PvP and PvE .Then OFC comes a stream of weekly nerfs when their new OP buffs cause too much problems and so more whining. But still they somehow manage to miss the core issues players have, for example shadow form and speed clears... they did well stopping them.

The problem is it's only these issues, and the fact they couldn't do things right in the first place. Which is the standard anet way of things.
The comments on pve attention are pretty good actually, seeing as anet just can't nail GvG down...the reasoning being that if they still can't give pvp the right lovin' then why not divert their apparent resources to somewhere else.

Seeing as GW was built around the idea PvP would be the main event, it's good to see it's still being worked on.
I just can't wait until they fix the Shadow Form bug.
I think Anet were inspired by Microsoft to have their game tested by the consumer and wait to be told what to fix.

Why shouldn't they update PvP skills? Why does a PvE player care at all when a skill that only exists in PvP is changed?

Only kidding but there are a bunch of arrogant pvp players out there.
I was getting very fed up with jibes about how pve was so easy you could do it with no skills at all.
That said PVP is most important to the game because its where 90% of the skill changes come from the other 10% comes from pve farming.
In effect pvp play constantly playtests the game skills and creates new content.
The only real problem is that the development team cannot keep up with them so changes come very late, its no ones fault just signs of an old game with limited support available.
GW built around pvp ? hmm show me the proof
So much time and effort was put into creating the pve world it makes no sense at all since pvp takes place in a very small part of it.

On-topic...considering how old the game is, I'm pleased with any bug fixes that they have time to do.

No it is lack of play in the other formats that cause the format to rot. ???
|
In fact , since GvG is supposed to be THE pvp format in GW , it would be quite ridiculous if it was completly dead , thus that's maybe the reason there is much more work done on that format..

And they wonder why the people from Anet dont show up more often. You cannot please this community it seems.

I've played the game for 4 years and have absolutely no gripes with Anet at all. Everything they've done has given me so much enjoyment. If I really sit back and think at things, everything has been done for a purpose and I can't think of anything to moan about.
Things change, skills change, additions get added to the game, some things are altered or removed... deal with it.

I’m glad we have the definition of “hypocrisy” sorted. Now let’s work on “pedantic”.

On topic: People whine about every game due to the areas that are update more frequently. They fix what needs to be fixed, not always exactly what the players want, again, deal with it. -.-

I think it could just be left at "people whine". The game has passed the 5 year mark, which makes things all the more confusing. You'd think by now people would know what to expect and not act so shocked that they didn't get their wish list updated.
At least you provided a definition (unlike others), but it's just that when people do misuse a word, it's even worse when others insist on thrashing them pretentiously.

Yes but that lack of play is due to the fact that such format doesn't get any update ever , thus people start leaving because they get bored , etc...

Because it is. To deal with poorly designed and stupidly broken HM monsters in PVE, the builds have to be broken enough to compete with HM monsters.
ANet is introducing a power creep in classes it does substantial updates in ("Find Their Weakness!" +40 dmg and deepwound....). The power creep would be unnecessary if they just fixed HM monsters to not be broken in such gimmicky and generic ways. They could then not buff classes to play better, but change them to fit into a better role such as the Dervish finding it's own role by complete redesign.
The game itself is becoming extremely overpowered in more and more aspects as ANet changes skills.

I myself love the dart board skill updates we use to get on a monthly basis. It keeps the game form getting horribly stagnant as we have seen lately. I don't care that imba builds came out of it, at least it was some to play with and tweak new little builds out of.
This game is Titled Guild Wars, but the true title is Build Wars. That is what has kept this game fun for me.

For one very good reason and that's the constant attacks from pvp players every time a pve request was put to the forum in the past.

In the case of PvP, change for the worse. The reason why people "moan" about PvP updates is because it makes PvP drift away further and further from the "skill over skills" philosophy.

There are too many skills for good balance, they admitted this mistake. Hence the entire rework for GW2.
You keep shitting on a company for doing updates that aren't that bad even for a p2p game and karma is going to shit on your next endeavor just like you're doing to them.

Secondary professions and lack of deck-building rules are far bigger problems facing balance. The former will be gone, the latter gives rise to a skill bar that won't let people science impossibly easy builds to SC everything. Yes, science is a verb now.

Ah a directed comment....no better way to troll. Anywho, if you reread the questions.....yes the questions....*note all those ? marks....knowing now that it was sarcastic in nature....does it still qualify as a troll? Granted it provoked responses, yet only one in came via a desired fashion...so I'm sort of bamboozled by it.

Dear Arena.net,
Your nerf did nothing to the build in question.
Good job!
