Why are Kurzick and Luxon fighting
Lishy
Seriously, why are they fighting and endless war? I don't get it.
Xenomortis
The reason is pathetic and seriously ad hoc.
They argued over which of the heroes (Viktor and Archemorus) killed Shiro. Seriously.

"They are at constant war with the Luxons due to the struggle for the scarce and precious Amber and Jade solidified at the time of the Jade Wind."
They are at constant war with the Kurzicks due to ancient unexplained hatred and the desire over the scarce and precious Amber and Jade that was solidified from the Jade Wind.

The Kurzick/Luxon war only seems stupid when looking from the outside in. Regardless of which side you grew up on the Jade Quarry I don't think you'd be too happy that the people on your border were taking your resources, discrediting your national hero and were getting away with outlandish dress sense.
Added to that prejudice you would have grown up with the Emperor of Cantha keeping both sides in a constant stalemate to ensure neither gains supremecy and threatens stability within the empire. If that wasn't enough, the entire thing was orchestrated by a god. The tree-huggers and neuvo hobboes didn't stand a chance.
Apart from a god getting involved you don't have to look too far to find real life examples.

There's even more to the story than that, actually.
The two sides first started hating each other when the Canthan empire subjugated the Kurzicks and employed them to help subjugate the Luxons. I forget where I read that, though.
But like any war, once it gets going, people forget the initial reasons (several NPCs note that the Kurzicks and Luxons probably forget the reasons they started fighting).

Count Zu Heltzer slept with Rhea, knocked her up, snuck out in the middle of the night, never left a call-back number and thus the infinite war started for child support payments.

everyone knows its because kurzicks are blue and luxons are red meaning they must fight because of this colour clash

Hmm... I thought they were at peace. Looking at various articles though, seems I was wrong.
In which case I retract my previous statement.

If only they would stop "bickering like school children" (R.I.P. Togo), form an alliance, and wage war on the empire. No one likes the emperor. He /dances in a silly way and has hideous pets. Plus there's the minor thing of leaving an entire populace to rot in a disgusting and infected city at the mercy of bandits, robbers and cutthroats and gruesome monsters. I'm optimistic a combined assault of Juggers and Turtles could make short work of the forces the emperor can muster.

Actually, most of the jade in the jade sea is not pure enough to be of any use.
Hence the Jade Quarry and all the fuss over it.

Rhea's Crater is a large explorable area in the eastern part of the Jade Sea. The entire area is a giant quarry for the Luxons where deep excavation work can be found. The walls are littered with frozen corpses of fish from the Jade sea including creatures that resemble the Leviathan. The area seems to be named after Elder Rhea.
