Do r8 max death staffs still drop?

Me and a guild mate of mine are arguing that r8 max deaths staffs still drop or not, i say they do but he says they dont, i say they do because of the fact other r8 max things drop, so why wouldnt this? Can someone clarify?

Currently only 3 weapon types can drop with max base stats and req 8 - Foci, Shields and Swords. There is an extremely small chance to get a req.8 11-22dmg staff to drop, but it will have a low %HSR stat.

I would like to add that an alliance member of mine got max req8 daggers dropped last week. not gold...its a grape

they will have max dmg but only 17% HSR at best if one drops and they will be grape

About 2 months ago or so I got a gold, req 8, max energy (inscribable) Spined Focus. It's not the death staff you're inquiring about but I thought I would throw in my 2 cents anyways.

That would be probably the first max req.8 daggers to have dropped since the big bad nerf, I'd really like to see a proof because it seems very unlikely that it's true. Proof = screenshot of the item if it's inscribable, or screenshot of it while still on the ground assigned to a player if it dropped in Factions.

If it's possible on a grape then it's surely possible on a gold aswell, but there's a much better chance for finding those stats on a grape just because gold staves with appropriate item_level to generate those stats require a much more narrow selection of possible drop sources.
