hi, i just started playing Nightfall. I made a dervish toon. I just stopped playing after 1 hour outta frustration.

First:
i have to hold down right mouse button constantly for mouse look, cuz i cant find a mouse look toggle, that a billion other games have.
ok, fine i deal with it and play untill my finger starts to hurt.

Second:
The third person camera is bouncing and bobbing all over the place, while the toon is running up and down the terrain, cuz i cant find an option to turn it off, like a billion other games have. Makes me nauseous.
ok, fine i deal with it and play, just try to get use to it.

Straw that broke the camels back:
While attacking and killing mobs with my Dervish, the toon is constantly hanging its head down, looking at the ground untill whatever buff/debuff wears off.

ok, is there a toggle for mouse look?
and will my dervish continue to always hang its head down in a fight? (so annoying)

1. Do you use arrow keys to move? That tends to work better than clicking to move.

Might want to see a doctor about that. Typically if your figure hurts from holding a button for an hour isn't a normal thing.

2. What? Might want to get your graphics card checked, that never happened to me or anyone I know. Plus, how does a billion other games have a turn off button for camera movement for characters going up stairs?

3. Their dervishes, keeping their face hidden as their ninja's. But really, their paying respect to dead. Sending souls to the underworld with the respect to the afterlife not seeing their killer and won't seek vengeance.

I just got trolled didn't I?

i think he/she means they are in first person mode. not thrid person. 3rd person is when you can see the character and all the stuff around him/her, not when you can only see the terrain.

But to my knowledge you cant turn off the "bumping up and down" in first person which seems to be what your describing.

Hi. Welcome to GW.

I don't have much to add on your first point since I've never explored anything beyond using the default move/view setup. I've always found it perfectly workable, if not better than other control schemes. Yes, you'll be laying on your RMB a lot, but I think it's something that you won't even notice after a while.

Second, the camera bobbing in 3rd person can be reduced by zooming in a little more on your character. When you're zoomed all the way out, your camera will follow the terrain it bumps into, which can make it seem like you're on a roller coaster. By having your camera closer to your character, the number of times this happens will be reduced (but not eliminated). If you prefer to be zoomed way out when you play, angling down your view can also help, then only zoom in when you need to.

As for point three, this is an affectation unique to the Dervish, and one that I personally thought was very cool. There are other classes that you can play though, which won't hang their heads after they kill. You might try a different one if you can't get into your current one.

You can create a toggle to hold right mouse with AutoHotkey. I don't know of any option to do that in the in-game controls.

If your finger starts to hurt from holding down a mouse button, you probably need to get a better mouse. Only a dollar-store mouse would take that much effort.

Not sure what you're saying here, but perhaps you are zoomed way out and the camera bobs too much - in which case zoom in a bit further (mousewheel). Or, maybe you are zoomed in too close - in which case zoom out. Or, maybe you have 3rd person view confused with 1st person view - in which case zoom out.

ha ha! very funny.

Or, conversely - you've got to be kidding.

If that's the "straw that broke your back" you simply need to quit GW. Your back and your fingers can't take the strain.

I'm not sure what games he is comparing to but you really don't need to be constantly "aiming" in this game like a first person shooter. Get used to using the 'C' command to select the nearest enemy. 'Tab' will cycle to the next target. Alternatively '[' and ']' can let you select through targets. You might also play around with your zoom setting (the mouse wheel) to find the view that is easiest on your eyes. (Although this does sound suspiciously like a troll post...).

Thank you Ichorspring & MisterB for being the only 2 who clearly read my post.

You both really helped me out!
