It seems every time i open a file on my slave Harddrive (WD Caviar 120gb) the mouse (standard optical Dell) cursor movement speed reduces dramatically and will stay that way even after closing said file/window. Only will it return to its normal speedy state if i interact with a window, such as firefox, or a file on my C: drive (WD Caviar 40GB) which contains very little besides the OS.
As I said its nothing substantial or critical but moving my mouse across the desk three times to get to the other side of the window does annoy me.
Movement speed is global unless pre-determined by open programs, correct?
What causes this and is their a really obvious solution to such a minor inconvenience that im just missing?

K after 63 views and no replies,maybe i need a TL;DR version.Here goes,
Why does the cursor movement speed reduce when interacting with files/programs on my slave HDD and return to normal when i interact with something in the master drive?
Thanks in advance,
Pinkey
