So just imagine this... three lanes, troops running down them fighting each other, and some unit/structure that's attackable that is a tower/turret. You can run between the lanes flanking enemies, or stick with your troops.

I think this could work for guild wars without any changes to the game mechanics, might want to buff the number of troops if a lot of players are in the lane. But by making three defined lanes it could remove the whole "mobbing" thing that sometimes occurs in ABs which makes the game less fun.

Dividing it into three lanes makes EVERYTHING better. Don't believe me? Look at America. Our government is divided into three lanes: judicial, legislative and executive.

Still don't believe me? Look at Christianity. Three lanes is like the Holy Trinity! See? Three lanes makes EVERYTHING better!

/notsigned terrible idea, if you can't avoid a giant blob of 10 players the format isn't the problem.

That just doesn't sound like Guild Wars to me.

It could also be limited to 5 players per side across 3 lanes. This combined with seeing people on the minimap, and the way that the format forces people to consider objectives, the problem you're describing couldn't happen.

Seeing as you misunderstood my post let me put it this way.

GW is a good game, DotA is terrible, let's not mix the two.

Hmm America and religion - bad examples to use .
1. GW is fantasy and not real life so giving america and christianity as examples is rather daft - who cares if the person in your team is american/french/israeli as long as you can communicate.Same for religion - im in a mixed alliance and never yet has anyone tried to push their religion not really has anyone stated what religion they are. We`re playing in a fantasy world not real life.

Question on religion tho - i always thought inquisitions was done by the catholic church - aka spanish inquisition and i never knew catholics regarded themselves as actual christians - catholics have rules that set them aside from christians and slightly different beliefs as well.Id hate for someone to take offence at a comment about inquisitions and christianity and start a damn religion flaming spree.

Not good examples lol

In any case, AB is fine the way it is, game-wise. Better map rotation could be nice, but that's a different issue.

If you're having trouble with mobs, go around them.

Basically I like DoTA and I think it might be an interesting PvP-Mode, but I don't want to lose AB for that. If it would be ever implemented (and it will NOT) I'd like to see it as a third

Anyways, I think that DoTA encourages mobs to gain an offensive advantage. You can't win a DoTA game where the players are distributed evenly over the lanes (except the other group sucks significally more)

As a side note, the Seperation of Powers is an European concept, older than the United States

Why would u purposely bring in government and religion in a guildwars thread? It doesnt make ur argument valid, it just makes it more retarded.

I like DotA, and I like Guild Wars. I have an open mind, and think this would be awesome, even though it'll never be implemented.

This has got to be one of the most idiotic ideas I've ever heard of.

If you want to play DoTA, then go play that. Or League of Legends. Or Heroes of Newerth. Or one of the other hundreds of games that are free and exactly like DoTA.

Also: In b4 close.

Closing this because you bring politics and religion into your argument. Nothing good will ever come of that. Try again?
