Just wondering whether SF is still any use these days?
I just found this one for my assassin, it looks interesting... very good protection but I don't know how the damage cap would work since assassins are supposed to be all about dishing out damage.
I had a look on PvX builds wiki for SF builds and they all seem to be achieved. So are SF builds no longer useful these days? I can find a few old perma-SF guides lying around, but nothing recent it seems.
Shadow Form builds

I Hate Chips
Almost every SC (=speedclear) needs a Assasin to tank with shadow form.
So yes they are still usefull.
Solo > I farm Vaetirs, (during events for many drops and golds)
SC > u can do, Kath/SoO/Bogroots/Rragar's/Raven/Oola/FoW/UW/DoA
all these SC's need a assasin (or more).

Lord Dagon
also(while not strickly assassins) monks on DTSC runs use SF instead of spell breaker.
thought id add that one to Chips' list

Wait Vaetirr farming still works even though raptor farming doesn't work? vaetirrs attack using spells?
Lord Dagon
mystic rains
you also need a shield with +10 vs earth damage for vaetir farm
Yaksha
So speed clear would be skills to maintain SF + skills for running?
For farming, how would you deal damage? To get the defensive part working, you'd need SF + skills to let you perma SF + assassin enchantments for SF's damage reduction. That leaves only a few slots for skills to deal damage with. What kind of skills would you use to let you deal decent damage with SF's restriction?
Say if you're up against a monk, or something with self heals. How do you get enough damage output to kill with SF's max damage restriction.

Actually in a sc people dont use skills to maintain sf but a consumable that makes skills recharge faster of the whole party(and in fow and uwsc they use all the 'party' cons known as a conset). But in farms u use glyph of swiftness if u go /e and deadly paradox if u go /any. In alot of farms and scs u go /e for the skill sliver armor which deals damage to a foe around you every time you get hit(so if u i.e. need to kill the melee mob u get ranged aggro so u get hit more and u kill faster)even if u get hit for 0. But if sliver armor isnt suited u can use any other prof in a farm however e management gets harder(deadlx paradox=15e +5e from sf and glyph of swiftness =5e +5e from sf). I think im not going to explain more about dmg because in so many farms they do use very diffrent builds and if u want to learn a sc go to pvx wiki click on great working sc builds and look for those who are tagged as used in the current pve meta (a few are:Kathandrax spearway,Shards of Orr snowway and Uwsc Terraway) note:im sorry if this is a bit hard to read i typed this on my mobile

I do Vaettir farm with my old perma armor, deathly paradox, SF, shroud of distress, way of perfection, great dwarf armor, symbol of wrath, kirin's wrath and balthazar's spirit... +20% enchantment staff and it's all good, no need for blessed insignia...
Assassin Of Sound
mostly used for speed clears now
