Hi, I am a relatively new player to GW, I have minor questions regarding PVXwiki
>How often do builds get updated?, I see some discussion regarding builds(in discussion section) and they mostly talk about variants of the builds in which I can only assume is because of the original builds getting nerfed, and also because many of them are saying its nerfed
>Abbrevations, i.e, in most build sections, they usually abbrevates many areas and monsters and I was wondering if there was a seperate article on popular monster/area abbrevations(the abbrevation article on guru relates abbrevs used throughout the game)
>How do I keep track of builds that are working perfectly and not?
Any tips/hints to taking full advantage of wiki materials?
I am sorry if I posted at the wrong section, I am hoping someone could answer me

Builds are placed in Meta when most of the community uses them and/or agrees that the build is efficient for a task.

So, you can...
1. Try them out and decide for yourself what works, and
2. Learn the game mechanics and some relatively easy mathematics and figure it out for yourself.
The real value in PvX builds (when they have any value at all) is that they may highlight non-obvious synergies or counters to specific monsters. The rest of the skills, the attributes, the equipment, and so on are usually poorly chosen. For that matter, even the non-obvious synergies or counters might feature the wrong skill with the right mechanic.

And a lot of them now tend to be incomplete. They give you some basic skills that cover half the bar and leave the rest up to you to choose.

They're good to get some 'inspiration' or ideas of what to design your build around.
I look at it a lot but I've never actually copied a build from there.

Unless you are looking for a team build or farm, I don't recommend you make PvX your go-to place. It is a good reference point to get some ideas for synergy but too often the builds rely on an abundance of PvE skills which new players don't have.
Feel free to post in the build discussion asking for ideas and include what sort of play style you prefer.
As far as abbreviations, I wish I knew of a place that you are looking for, it would have helped me a lot. Again, PvX Wiki isn't a great place to learn the ropes. Once you have more experience it becomes even less useful, with few exceptions.

I'd like to think that the GvG section is reasonably well-curated. I can't speak for anything else.

This may be going off-topic, but I would personally recommend NOT using pvx wiki as your source for builds. It's a good place source for inspiration sometimes, but as some people have said, many of the builds on there are not things I would personally use. Instead, get a feel for the game mechanics, and start making your own builds. At first, they may not be very good, but over time, you'll start to get a feel for things, and you'll end up being able to make much better builds than what pvx has to offer. Also, remember that pvx builds have a very good chance of being nerfed.

I am going to have to agree with most here. PvX is not really a good place for builds. The vetting policy there is flawed to the point where most builds get ratings based on spite/egotism vs actual merit. That being said, you may go there for a general feel of builds, but in time you'll find you are better able to create your own.
