Blacklisted

Hi

Last night I was kidding around with someone, and he got enraged in an SoOSC run, just as I was about to tell him I was joking, the A/P runner thought since he was the "big man on campus" he could control the whole team by proclaiming that if we did not stop, he would leave. I kid you not this didn't take place for more than 10 seconds, and as I was about to tell the other snow I was kidding, he just upped and left on us like he was gods gift to mankind. The kid only had a rank 4 KOABD title.

Now suddenly he and his friend are running around Vlox Falls proclaiming that my name is banlisted slandering my name in game for no reason. I can no longer run during the peak time when I have avaliable time to be online, nor can I even show my face in Vlox while they're around without feeling shameful. I'm one of the most reliable runners (not the best) but I execute the run extremely well and never have problems whatsoever. But now I can't seem to get in a group. People let me in and as soon as they say something in regards to me, the group that I am currently in says "Oh, look, hes banlisted" Even if I was utmost polite to the leader and everything got along well.

I'm an adult, 34 years of age, I have a son that plays on this account as well. Nothing had been done wrong by my part or anyone elses in the group for that matter except he and his friend. After they had left the group I even told the other person I was having a confrontation with that it was a joke and he seemed to have a laugh over the things that took place just seconds earlier.

Now that my name is blacklisted I literally sit in vlox falls and get to watch the waves of teams leave, and then when the rush is gone, I have no groups to join.

Is it possible for those two accounts to be permanently banned, or for me to get a namechange? What are the steps I can take to combat online grief and name slandering?

get a name change or join an alliance that runs SC's all the time.

Granted u can send in screens to support with /reports, but yeah? whats that gonna do really? Kind of makes me wonder what you were doing/joking to piss them off. Personally...I wish I could ban all the ping/drawing happy ppl out there, but oh well.

I kept telling everyone that I wanted them to be "Exp No fail" team only, otherwise I would be very upset. Just mocking all of the other elitests that do speed clears (apparently the elitest who wants me blacklist took offense to that xD)

You can try buying a name change or making a new character, but if anyone's friends listed you at some point in this affair, it won't work.

Support probably won't help you. If you can't solve it personally, it might be time to buy a new account.

Don't play Guild Wars anymore and be one less player for the game. If everyone did this, the game would eventually become empty, and players would either regret their arrogance and change for the better, or continue destroying the very core of MMO gaming: playing with each other.

Wait a bit.
After a while, no one cares what anyone says, or they'll just give up. Some people take this game too seriously and can't handle some jokes. If someone is good, I'll group with them. I don't like most of the community, anyway :P
I just don't talk in runs unless I think it necessary.

I would agree with Moonstalker, just a wait a little while before going back to Vlox. Give it like a week and I doubt anyone will remember or even care by that point.

Honestly I just keep my talking to a min during runs unless I'm with my guildies. There are too many people out there that will do things like what happened to you. (Like they have any right to do that, SoO as well as Kath runs are quite simple).

And to add to all this: You are better at real life than them. Them going out of their way creating e-drama in the game automatically places them in the no lifers category.

I don't think the OP is better in any way. OP went out of their way to annoy some people and can't deal with it except by wanting the others banned?

Everyone jokes around with others. We can't criminalize that or know some child is going to go off the deep end and harass others.

As for being 'blacklisted'... I just say to wait it out. If you don't hang around in Vlox for a few days, hopefully their childish behaviour will cease. You might also consider reporting them. I don't know if aNet would do anything about it, but repeated harassment at any level is hopefully not tolerated.

lol ban/blacklist is a joke:P there is no such thing as a blacklist, just some ppl who will remember your name for like a week. if one of those isn't online you are free to play. U think that all the ally's and guildys of the guy you "offended" know who you are? no they don't they'll just let you play with them. so yeah you can't join 2 or 3 players now, wow that's not a big deal. since there are like 20 groups going out there on any moment.

Got blacklisted like 3 times on my first days of UW Speadclearing pre nerf, and I've never had any problems with that, I could join every group.. so actually the blacklist is just a lie in my eyes.

I play this game over 5 years and just have 23 titles..just because I don't
care for titles. I just like the game it self.

But you are right some people are easily stept on their toes.
Dont make a big deal of it.. it are just boring runs to get richer in a game
which you don't have to be rich to play it at it's full

This can be true if the group he went with was a ally team or somehow friends.
Otherwise it can be annoying that somebody is leaving while doin something.

But there are other ways to deal with it than trying to get others banned or changing your name. Ask your friends? (Surely he's made some if he's a regular?) I mean he can't even confront them, he feels "shameful"? I'm pretty sure most of us have had spats like this in outposts, we don't go running off with our tails between our legs.

You could always throw some wild accusation at them, remember it's not like it's an offical part of the game, just some community nonsense.

I agree with everyone who says to just stay clear of the place for a bit and that the whole "blacklist" thing is a joke. It'll blow over because nobody outside your guild, alliance, and friends list is going to remember your name unless people keep talking about you.

On a side note, the more people that those little D-Bags piss off, the more their reputation will grow as D-bags and the fewer people will put up with them.

Or hey, maybe try not doing SoOSC. There are plenty of better and more fun things to do in GW than just exploiting Shadowform, even for an assassin.
They're doing you, and the economy as a whole, a huge favor. One less speed clearer on the streets is a beautiful thing.

pugs think they are touch sshouting that. chances are nobody in vloxs care about what they have to say and you'll still get in teams. I bet a few of the people forming teams even have the 2 you're dealing with on their own "blacklist."

Well... To each their own, man-- this whole thread is pretty bleh. If they say you're "blacklisted", then f-'em. I recommend that you move on and, in a few days, you'll most likely be back in a team with one/some of the members if you're "good enough" to meet their expectactions and if you don't mention the whole incident to anyone in-game. People like to talk and it'll f you in the ass pretty hard.

Besides all of that, for the most part shitters just shout "BLACKLISTED!!" to try and seem like they have some form of "power". Chances are, they don't even have a "blacklist" to begin with.





Buuuuuuut.... For me, personally, I have a little notepad titled "Banned List". This list I keep for people who are disallowed from ever rejoining my guild under any circumstance.

You could always switch to the OGNSC for a while..
