title skills

I achieved some titles in EotN, and went to the appropriate Heralds (Gedrel of Ascalon and Tyr the Skaald) to get the skills (Rebel Yell and Heart of the Norn) that the titles bestow. However, I can't see the skills in my skills tab -- are these skills passive, i.e. they automatically activate?

To have these "passive" skills/effects active you have to have that respective title on.
ex) to have Rebel Yell on you must have your Vanguard title showing (box checked)

And you don't have to equip them. As long as you have the title checked, it will show up in your effects bar.

it might also be worthy to note that even if the title skills show on your screen in the explorable areas, they are only effective in the areas of the race they apply to..

ie) The Norn title skill is only effective in the Norn explorable areas - Far Northern Shiverpeaks, Drakkar Lake, Bjora Marches, etc.

The Dwarves title skill will only be effective in dungeons.

The Asura skill will only be effective in Areas like Rata Sum.

Basically, the all the EotN areas. They wont work in the campaigns.

The dwarf title skill will be usefull against destroyers, not dungeons.

thats not entirely correct. the vanguard title bonus will also work on charr in ascalon from the prophecies campaign. unless they changed that

The Vanguard title works on charr wherever you find charr -- EotN, Prophecies, or dungeons such as CoF. It can be very helpful when vanquishing Ascalon areas or doing HM missions there.

The Delver title works on destroyers wherever you find destroyers -- either in dungeons (Raven's Point, DD, ATFH) or above ground (in Magus Stones near the GOLEM facility, outside Raven's Point during the primary quest that takes you there, Assault on the Stronghold).

The other two titles work only in their respective territories, above ground. They do not work in dungeons at all. So, for example, the Asura title will work in Sparkfly Swamp, but not when you enter Bloodstone Caves or Bogroot Growths.

Not true. The Delver title (while displayed) will affect any encounters with destroyers. The Vanguard title (while displayed) will affect any encounter with Charr.

Also note, your heroes (and maybe henchies) benefit from the effect as well.
