Back from a long break.

I came back to the game from a long break and I am really struggling with hardmodes. I am getting my ass handed to me and I am having trouble setting up my builds for general farming.

I don't understand the game like I used to. I am trying to make my own builds but they are not good enough I guess. Also how do i get skills for my heroes and weapons shields ect. Do i have to craft new armor for them?

lol if anyone is willing to help I would gladly pay you since I'm not here to make massive amounts of money I am here just to relax and have fun.

Anyway I have tons of questions but it seems like everything I find is out of date or doesnt apply to me because I only have Prophecies and Nightfall. Where can I find updated info builds and the like?

lol were a community you dont need to pay us

check there for builds.
you have NF so you should have acess to heros. PvX has some preety decent hero builds but i suggest the spirit way on there(hero section).

Now i dont know what profession you are so i cant help you with your build :/.

and since your comming back to the game i suggest doing stuff in Normal mode for awhile till you get back and used to the way things roll.

And on the matter of getting armor and such. You only have to craft armor for yourself. Your heros armor lvls up compared to your lvl(they have max armor when your lvl 20.)
And unless you want to use the same weps that the heros come with yes you will need to craft/buy/get lucky with a drop sheilds/offhands and swords/staves/wands for them.

as per farming: we arent really supposed to give you builds(your supposed to give us a build with a farming target and have us tweak it) but im a nice guy so here http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:E/Me...Vaettir_Farmer i suggest getting that build up and running in HM EoTn(i would get it the weps are good enough+ im preety sure u need a hall of monuments(thing used to store weps, minis, titles, armors) to give you cosmetic bonusus in GW2.

Hope this helps

Ok Cool thanks for the info and tips. Here is my current build.

M/Ele
Fire Magic 12
Smiting Prayers 13
Divine Favor 3

My skills are Bane Signet, Banish, Smite, Signet of Judgment, Fire Storm, Fireball, Flare, and Intensity. I am working on getting all my elites.

I don't think its really that bad but I get beat down with it. lol

I don't plan on getting any other expansions mainly because I can't afford it right now.

Yeah it would be nice to solo or solo with one heroe but right now I want to relearn this game before I am turned off of it and I go back to wow. lol

2 things.

Firstly, you don't pick two professions. You pick a primary and a secondary. You are a Monk, not an Ele. Leave the Ele nukes to the Ele. The only reason I can think of right now for Mo/E is Glyph of Lesser Energy (which makes it easier for you to do your Monk business, not pretend to be an Ele). Ditch the last 4 skills and find something better. There are a lot of decent Smite skills. Without the rest of the campaigns you're a bit limited, but whatever happens you'll be better off than with the Ele stuff.

Secondly, GW isn't meant to be soloed. The areas/missions are designed with the expectation that players will have a full team. Unless you've got a specific build designed for soloing, you won't be able to do it.

GW is indeed about the team (of 8) instead of a single character against the world. Try adventuring with a full team first.

Hmm ok so I should forget my secondary and use just my primary skills? Or look at aome of the other classes?

I'm not trying to solo the game I use my Henchman and heroes. I played through all the missions using just my heroes and henchmn. Tried grouping a few times but its worse than grouping with people in WoW. lol

He's going to have a hard time with that farm and the HoM, since he doesn't own EoTN.

Yeah but I went ahead and made an E/Me and I am still in pre-searing with her but so far I am having some fun. Right now though I am messing around with different build ideas with my monk while I collect my elite skills.

Wasn't sure if I should start a new thread or not. So i decided to post in my first one.

Is it better to try and do hard modes with just my heroes or its not a big deal to use the henchman also?

You should always be using a full party.
