Calling all Drunkard specialists

I need some help from the people who know something about the Drunkard title and drinking. Basically, I've been doing Witmans Folly Chest runs while drinking. I've used up all my 3 mins drinks, which are the easiest as you just drink 1 per 3 mins or, in my case, every time you start a run. Now I've only got 1 min drinks left. Can anyone tell me how many I should drink before the start of each run to get 3 mins or about the same amount per run a 3 min drink would give me?

Thanks in advance.

Drinking 5 will give you 3 mins.

Each lv1 ale increases your dunkness by 1, up to a maximum of 5. Levels 1 and 2 don't count toward the title.

It would have been best(in terms of gold savings) if you drank a 3 min drink, then every time you gained a minute in your title bar, to drink a 1 min drink.

Edit: but now that I think of it, the effects of ales last through zones, correct? Like after zoning into an area drunk and using Drunken Master, you'll still get the effects. If that's the case, you just need to drink 5 ales at the start, then an ale every time you gain progression in your title bar.

So 5 ales will give me the same effect as a 3 min drink? This is because when i was drinking the 3 min drinks, a run would give me 3 mins because of the time spent running + resigning and zoning. So I should just chug 5 1 min drinks everytime I start a run then?

Yes 5 ales will give the same effect as a 3 min drink. A "3 min drink" = lv5 ale ; "1 min drink" = lv1 ale.

If you chug 5 of those 1 min drinks at the start of every run, yes it'll be the exact same thing as you were used to when you drank 3 min drinks. But in this fashion, you're wasting potential gold (for every 5 ales, you waste 2). If you don't care about gold then go for it.

guild? I am supposed to have a guild?

what I normally do is drink 2 every 2 minutes after the initial 5 (to get you to max drunkard-ness)...or if I am forgetting--3 every 3 (but 2 every 2 is better I think..easier to keep track of even or odd numbers, unless you can do your multiples of 3's well----)

(I usually have my drinker up while I am here on guru---that way I can watch the little clock in the lower corner and just open my window up every 2 minutes...)

Drink one 'greater alcohol', Aged or Firewater, then drink a level one alcohol every minute. Or two alcohols every two minutes. Or three alcohols every three minutes.
I know that people use an autoclicker for alcohol while they sleep at night and no one ever got banned for it, as ANet probably don't mind autoclicking a title like that. So do it at your own responsibility, but it helps A LOT.

Ah thanks guys. The thing is I've already bought 10k mins of alcohol from an auction on here. I'm at about 5k mins right now and have 8k or so left from that auction. I'll try and go the 3 min + 1 min drink route as far as I can go until all my 3 min drinks are gone (Came into some firewater yesterday )

Speaking of drunkard, is that old zoning glitch still possible? It seems not but maybe i'm just at the wrong outposts.

Use a 3 minute ale. Zone into your GH. Zone back out. Check your drunkard time. If it went down by 1 minute, rezone back to GH and back out until you get credit for all 3 minutes. Rinse and repeat.

On a side note ... if you PvE as it seems, alcool can be very usefull.
I drank my full title only in zones, while using "Drunken Master" and "Feel no pain".

Granted, I played as a Warrior, and didn't have much money, so I didn't want to waste minutes.

As for the way to do this :
I had a few "lvl 5" drinks, and many many "lvl 1" drinks.
I would stard with a lvl 5, then drink a lvl 1 every minutes.
And the good way to remember when to drink for me was to
- of course open the title bar to see the counter
- split (with shift) my stack of lvl 1 drinks so that it added up to 10. Example : if at the beginning my counter was 2356 I would split my stack so that it ends with 4 (6+4=10) so something like 134 for example.
Then drink the lvl 5, and from then on, ensure that the last digit of the counter + the last digit of my stack makes 10. Continuing with my example, once counter reaches 2357 i'd drink once so my stack goes down to 133 (7+3=10).

The interest is that if in the middle of a fight you forgot to drink once, you can see easily by the counter if you should drink one, two, or even three.

And if you zone-map to another zone to farm, you can also see if the zone took you one or two minutes to drink.

So typically in one hour of playing in zones, I'd drink one lvl 5 at the begining, and 60 lvl 1 after.

Did I mention of course that if you want to fight while drunk, you should disable the blurring effect with F11 ?
