I thought about getting back into the AB/JQ/FA scene as it was always pretty fun but I had stopped around the time Mesmer rupt bots and other bots were getting even legit players reported and possibly banned. I'd really love to go play my pvp Mesmer but don't want to risk gettin banned for something I'm not doing. I don't rupt as fast as a bot but I did play Mesmer well enough to piss off a lot of Melee guys. Caster too.
Guess what I'm asking is.....has the pvp bot scene calmed down a bit? Will I get reported for whooping ass with my Mesmer? If I cant play legit pvp because of bots, grief reporters and paranoid people, that's really a shame.
Is it safe to Mesmer in PvP anymore?

I haven't seen anyone seriously accusing anyone else of botting (for interrupts) in quite some time.

Why on earth would you be banned for running a mesmer? It seems bizarre to even think that there was a chance of it, even if somebody reported you for botting do you think anet would just ban you on the basis of you rupting a few skills in a CM match. Why anyone would run a rupt bot in JQ is also beyond me as most skills that you will want to take care of are long casts (e.g. RoJ). I havent played JQ for a lil while, the bots I remember are the warrior ones that run aimlessly around spamming charge.
Also as other ppl pointed out there was a thread with the exact same title only a few days/weeks ago - searching is it safe to play mesmer would have brought you to the same page that Mintha pointed out, as its one of the first threads that come up when you search I find it hard to believe that you used search at all.

That's what i'd like to know, I'd thought that if you were causing your opponents to absolutely rage over you denying them their precious Gladiator rank, threatening to report you whilst sobbing behind salty tears whilst they cant do sod all, then i'd say your doing a bloody brilliant job .

I play mesmer all the time in PvP and I rupt 3/4 skills at-will and I'm not perma'd.
There's nothing wrong with running a mesmer in PvP. Proving that someone is using a rupt bot is extremely easy due to the fact that Arena.Net (can now?) detect the program that initially uploaded the packet sniffer or w/e it's called.
So, if you're not botting, then there's no need to worry. If you ARE, then you can expect a nice perma.
Hve fun playing Mesmer. ^___^

Yeah it seems pretty strange that you would even have this concern. It's a bit of a paranoid exaggeration. Interrupt bots were banned because there was proof that not only did the players using them have a very high interrupt success rate, even with very short cast times (1/2 a sec, maybe a 1/4), but the skills were interrupted at approximately the same exact points in their casting. It is very doubtful that you would be able to accomplish this, and although if you are good at interrupting you may get reported for it, there would be no evidence to ban you if you were indeed legitimately interrupting.
