I'm sorry for making yet another one of these posts but no one has been able to help me so far. For the past week(even before double faction started) I've been getting bad lag in pvp arenas. In pve its still bearable(like 300-600 but still playable) but the minute I get into say FA or JQ it gets really bad ie. It is the worst in Fort aspenwood; some games I can't do shit cause I'm getting 1k ping spikes every few secs and rubberbanding all over the place..

please help i am not IT savvy and its pissing me off

type of service is Starhub cable broadband, location: Singapore

ps.the main problem is the lag in JQ and FA...

wtf? and i seem to be the only one getting it

Well, we know nothing at all about the equipment you are playing on or the type of internet service you have, or the quality of your modem, or the operating system and whatever else you have running at the same time, or which server you are playing on and at what times you are getting the lag.

But if you think the problem is at Anet's end, create a support ticket and hope for the best. Maybe play somewhere else that isn't so laggy for awhile.

Your system is much better than mine, and I seem to be ok most of the time regarding ping. You are in Singapore... so I take it you are playing on the asian Anet servers? Depending on what time of day you are playing, perhaps try playing in Euro or Amer. I've heard a lot of reports of the asian servers being problematic since the physical server move a couple weeks ago. Of course, that may have been resolved by now.

I never really had any lag problems and when I do it's always related to my "free" internet.

Wireless connection? If so, try a direct cable and see if it will change anything.
If on a wireless, it could be a lot of radio interference from other wireless connections or even things like microwave ovens :O

you're getting rubber banding at 100k ping? i get that quite a lot, even had 100k ping a few times (playing on the american server from EU) but i don't seem to get rubberbanding much at the moment, just random jumping about occasionally, and a giant ping.

Well i would suggest you go to speedtest.net and see what you get for speeds and pings at different places around where you live. Pingtest.net is another good thing to run just to see what numbers you get. You could post them back here and that might give us some idea as to what is happening. Try it with your firewall on then off and see if there is a difference.

Maybe disconnect the power from your modem and router, then plug them back in after waiting 15 seconds to see if that helps. If you have wireless, check to see if someone is leaching off of your connection. If your ISP is to blame, the speedtest and pingtest results would help identify that, but you gotta make sure that no one is leaching off of you. Might have to plug your compy directly into modem and see if you have issues. Could be bad equipment either modem or router, or could be something weird with your ISP that you need to notify them about.
