Lightbringer bounties?

After reaching Sunspear Castellan, I'm no longer able to get bounties from the priests in any of the zones. Unfortunately, this also seems to be preventing me from getting the bounties for Lightbringer points, which I've barely even begun to start collecting. Do I have to wait until I can do hard mode to continue collecting Lightbringer points from bounties?

This is my first time through Nightfall so if I'm missing something elementary, please tell me.

'Upon attaining the rank of Sunspear Castellan (tier 8), your character can no longer obtain Sunspear bounties offered in normal mode. You must play in hard mode to get bounties to earn the last two ranks. You are able, however, obtain Sunspear points in normal mode as a reward for some Zaishen Challenge Quests. '

Once you get to rank 8 (which you are at), you are not able to gain bounties in Normal Mode.

er, I'm pretty sure you should be able to still take Lightbringer bounties... There isn't a connection between both titles.

Are you sure you're trying to get a Lightbringer bounty?

Even in the latest parts of the game, not all bounties at shrines are Lightbringer bounties. Lightbringer bounties are pretty scarce in Vabbi and the Desolation.

Heh, oops. Saw the reference to the Sunspear title and made an assumption... I really shouldn't rush replies.

Anyway, according to Wiki, you cannot gain bounties in Kourna in NM after you obtain rank 1 in the Lightbringer title. Once you've gotten into Elona you'll be able to get Lightbringer bounties regardless of what your title is and the mode.

Both titles shut off at certain points. For example, Kourna bounties are only available up to a rank before you need to move on to Vabbi ones.

So, first, try finding a higher level bounty area. Try the sulphurous wastes for Sunspear.

However, no matter what, eventually you'll need to do Hard mode to max out the titles - the last two ranks are Hard mode only.

His problem is with Lightbringer bounties:

I think he was lead to believe all bounties from Vabbi onwards to be Lightbringer, but most of the shrines before the Gate of Torment are still offering Sunspear bounties.

@OP: if you've reached the Dzagonur Bastion outpost, trying exiting to the Mirror of Lyss. There's a Lightbringer bounty right out there: try get that one and tell us how it goes.

Nope, this only applies to Sunspear. Altough not adviceable, Lightbringer is definitely maxable even in NM.

Where are you in the campaign? At Sunspear rank 8 they stop giving out bounties in NM. For Lightbringer you should be able to take them out at any rank unless you're still in Kourna which out gives out bounties until you are rank 1 Lightbringer.

I just went through Mirror of Lyss late last night and found two shrines that would give me Lightbringer bounties; one outside of Kodash Bazaar and the other outside of Dzagonur Bastion. I got to Castellan while still in Kourna so maybe that's why I couldn't get bounties for Lightbringer. Maybe I was missing the correct shrines, but it seems that they exist, at least in Vabbi.

Can I assume that so long as I keep progressing through the campaign that I'll be able to find further Lightbringer shrines? Is there a cutoff point for the track where I'll have to switch to HM to keep doing LB bounties?

No as Gill said above you can max LB in NM

It's a bit of a mixed bag. Sunspear shrines are way more frequent than Lightbringer, even at that point in the game. You'll then reach an entirely different area - the Torment - where only Lightbringer bounties are given.

No, not really.

There's some sort of a cutoff at Lv8 (which is the max level of the title track): you won't be able to get any more bounties in NM once you have maxed LB, but that's it, it's not like you'll ever miss it.

It is possible to get Sunspear rank 9 and 10 in NM, BUT will take a very very long time.

Every killed Guild Lord gives 50 sunspear points, in NM.

Also, zaishen missions and bounties that give sunspear points as a reward can still be collected and completed in NM even if you're sunspear rank 9 or 10.
