Guild Wars Recording Software.

Hey. Ive tried almost every recording software out there, but for some reason, the video playback is always slow, and laggy. I used to be able to record videos super smoothly before.

I have no idea what happened so that i cant do that now.


My computer is just fine, but the playback is still slow.

my Res: 1680x1050
RAM: 2GB
Graphics: ATI HD 4670
Processor: Dual Core 2.66 Ghz.

I can run every single game, including Guild Wars, Perfectly. But when i try to record it, its just plainly slow.

Ive seen videos of players in youtube, that have around the same pc specs, and their videos run amazingly smooth. Just like you were playing the game.

So my question is:

Does anyone have any ideas on how to make the videos run smooth? wich program to get, etc?

Can you give us a list of what software you have used?

You might want to use some of the GW switches to help with performance and do a general cleanup on your machine, especially a defrag.

Snag It
Hyper Cam

Hyper-cam works okay i guess, but honestly it is a pain in my ass...

The only ones I have used are FRAPS and the vid capture in XFire, which is pretty good.

I'm guessing you want to put these videos on youtube or somewhere like that so I don't think xfire will suit as you can only post on the xfire site (as far as I know).

So using FRAPS, try to set the video half size @ 30fps and to test, choose not to record audio for the time being.

Also, just check taskmanager to see if there are any programs that are utilising the cpu / memory when idling.

RAM: 5 GB
Graphics: Ati Radeon HD 4870 (1 GB)
And CPU: AMD Phenom x3 2.10GHz

Same problems.

The problem here is our giant resolutions.

What needs to be done is to turn down the resolutions to around 1280x720 or lower to get much smoother frames. I know it sucks, but it's really the only way I can record perfectly, maybe it'll work for you.

I tired just that chris. Still no better performance.
