Tormented Shield Disapeared!

I am a noob. Only been playing GW for 2 months. I own Prophicies . I have managed to obtain some very nice items via trading. One such item is my Tormented Strength Shield. I have been using it since I was level 12 and I am now level 20.

Today I installed "Eye of the North". I started the quest from Lion'sGate and began venturing until I reached the "Hall of Monuments". Now I was using a Zodiac axe and shield not my Tormented shield. As I began to check out my Hall and experiment with how to add weapons and pets, I noticed my Tormented shield was no longer in my inventory! Ugggg! I paid alot for it. I searched all my characters, storage chests, bags, everywhere. Its just disapeared. It is the only item I am missing! I understand that the hall will only display Destroyer and Tormented items.

Someone please help! I already emailed Support but havent received a response yet.

Unfortunately, there isn't much we can do for you. I would advise a really thorough check of all your characters and inventory, making sure to check every blank spot in your inventory, as I have seen items icons become invisible with a corrupt GW.dat file. So, hover over empty inventory and storage spots to make sure that that isn't the case.

Thanks for responding. Yes I checked everywhere! It is definately gone! I had it in my #2 weapon slot for weeks. I believe the problem has something to do with installing EotN. I only owned prophecies yet owned a shield created in another campaign. Maybe that had something to do with it. Kinda sucks since its not a common item to trade. I am on the auctions and dont see hardly any tormented stuff.

Also, make sure to check any heroes that you have as well. I've put things on heroes that I use infrequently and then totally forgotten that I had that nice Celestial Bow (ok, used to be a pricey item) on a hero that I hadn't played with in a month.

One thread on this topic would have been more than sufficient.
