Scourges of the Underworld

Hello all,

After beating Mallyx, my new goal is to beat Dhuum in UW. I've signed up for the run offered in the PUGs and Grouping thread, but I'd like advice on this anyway. I have a rough idea of where to start with a team, but I'm going to need the help of you guys to get an effective build together, I'm sure.

Here's my rough idea:

- 100B Warrior
- RoJ Monk
- Sin tank
- SoS Communing/Channeling Rit
- Panic Mesmer
- UA
- HB
- Unsure of what should go here. Heroes suck at MoP, so...I dunno.

I'll likely have three people for my run, so 3 human-aimed bars at most would be great. I'm up for any suggestion, though. I'd include build ideas, but I just don't know what would be very useful here and what would be terrible, so builds along with roles would be great.

for whatever you bring, id suggest 1 tank (resistant to interrupts) and an emo at the bare minimum (emo will make dhuum so much easier)

1.dual-ER Backline
2.lots of damage
3.???
4.Profit.

There really is nothing left to say. A SoS rit for pulling will do you well, also.

Have the necromancer help out the Panic mesmer with the stupid Hex Breaker spammers by having an AoE hex to call.

Smite is bad, m'kay.

Hexes in UW are to be eliminated imho, since the hardest part is in where most mobs (Mindblades Spectres) have hex-breaker....you cannot rely on hexes....Maybe only MOP or barbs to speed up killing the 4 horsedudes....

RoJ is a nice skill..but: mobs scatter in AoE, and actually they move a lot, even in NM....
Dhumm is a badass...you'll take ages to beat him with that teambuild...

More dmg= faster and safer...mobs tend to stop spam less skills when they are dying...(dunno if it's true, but i noticed this...)

I'm pretty sure that none of those builds would be considered old-school. They all were made after skills were updated, most of them in just the past year and a half.
This thread title is a lie!

I see. I've never sued ER as I heard it's subpar for heroes, though maybe that's bull. A human ER...I'd probably have trouble finding anyone who would be willing to do the job. Still, I know from my pre-Dhuum clears that Hexbreaker can be a total pain in the ass, so an AoE hex would be a really good idea. Really, my biggest issue is finding 8 people, or humans for the roles that require them, but I'm still certain that there is some way to get away with, say, 3, maybe 4 people in UW (foolish though it may be).

How might a build for an interrupt-resistant tank look?

Elementalists and Necromancers are the most common/popular professions. You're bound to find some hanging around the back of Melandru's broken statue.

If you take an ER, you won't need a dedicated tank as badly. If you take two ERs, you will definitely not need a tank and can take as much damage as you can slot on other professions.
