So what are you going to do with your treasures?
Gabriel of Ravn
I will probably give my account away hardly ever on now anyways
Pleikki
Gonna keep em forever Customize every item i got left. Most likely someday will come back to gw1 someday to hang up and play. and if theres sum other players would be cool chatting about teh items etc. even then there could be some ppl just starting the game
Yawgmoth
This question would matter if they would be shutting down the servers but we know they won't and they will still slowly continue the GW:Beyond. I will be playing GW2 for sure but I may still log in to GW1 from time to time so no reason to get rid of any items.

Besides which, I don't have great masses of ectos or anything anyway - I've spent most of my gold along the way on things like Obsidian armor for 6 (of 11) characters.
Voodoo Rage
I've definitely been a lot more generous lately just giving away a lot of stuff I would have normally tried to sell in the past or if I see someone posting a WTB item that I have, just selling it to them at a ridiculously low price.
Speaking of that, yesterday someone was looking for an Elite Sin Tome in LA. I whispered him, "I have a bunch of elite sin tomes, you can have for 1k each if you want." He replies "800g". So I just log off. Seriously?
I've also quit being cheap with my heroes. I used to be really hesitant to venture outside the "Sabway Triple Necro" setup because I was too cheap to want to outfit new heroes. Now whenever I want to experiment with something new, I just throw down the money for runes and don't worry about (OK, I'm still being cheap on the Major Vigor instead of Superior...).

I'm going to wait until I know how the HoM rewards you for what you have, then if I need anything I'm going to use all my wealth to fill it up with what's required. I'm hording money for that very reason.
Morphy
A. Nuffink. Why would I waste time on throwing stuff out?
ilr
I only have about 500 in plat & mats & probly 500k invested in Armors/Runes/etc...
So I doubt I qualify as wealthy enough for this thread.
...but once HoM details are announced I'll probably divy it out to any of my friends & guildmates who will take it.

I will play GW1 until my computer quits or the servers go down. Everything I have at that time will remain on my account as it fades into nothingness.
Voodoo Rage
So much for being generous. Some guy wanted to buy a gold spear, so I PM'd him and said I have a few extras and he can just have one for free. So I throw three Q9 gold spears up in the trade window and he replies, "You don't have anything nicer?" It reminds me of the time in college I tried to give a bum my left over Chinese food and he cussed me out.
Ayuhmii Shanbwa
if i quit gw, i keep most stuff, why? well this:
i have not much for HoM, just sugar, alcohol and party stuff, when i gave that away, i dont care anymore
i never cared about HoM at all, and i still dont
except those items, the rest will stay
if i dont play gw anymore, i simply dont play it anymore....

I have nothing else to do but fill up my HoM with things for GW2 rewards. That is the only reason I have money left in this game and havent quit.
And seeing as how rewards probably won't ever come out, and that concept is already probably in the Anet recycling bin... I'll be sitting on everything and itll become useless forever.

idk tbh.... its just a game so well if servers will be shut down i'll just keep anything on my account and let it go...
no reason why i should do anything else imo

In the GW world I guess I would consider myself:
lower Middle Class
Most of the effort has gone onto armor and titles. I only have a few ectos; I've rarely gone to UW since the game was released. Farming the elite areas just doesn't interest me for whatever reason. Oh, and I've never had an armbrace, ever. heh
So to answer the OP's question, I would go with option A.

Better safe than sorry. Wait and see.
1. If GW 2 runs well for you. Any new program, including new MMO, has lots of teething problems.
2. It is possible that ANet will later seek to stimulate further sales of GW 1 by including GW 1 new missions in optional GW 2 missions. I cannot see Anet throwing away an opportunity like that.
3. Never burn your bridges. No matter how green the grass may look on the other side.
4. Besides which ... it may turn out that you do not like GW 2; hard though that may be to believe. For an example, spend a few minutes on the Civfanatics forum in the Civilization 5 general discussion section for some real fireworks of the Civ 5 versus Civ 4 variety.
Oh ... me? Waste not, want not. I'm keeping all my stuff and will probably keep playing GW 1 off and on forever.

I'm waiting to see what we get from our HoM, They stated they would be doing a points system? I'd like to hear more on that before I pump my money into some titles.
While I wait I'll probably buy some fancy high end weapons to wag my e-peen with...

ValaOfTheFens
I'll probably stock up on stuff. I'm gonna finally develop my Ranger and I'll need materials for armor and the like. She already has the bows she needs though. 10 and counting. My hope is that people will be selling stuff cheap because money won't really mean anything anymore.
Sirds
I'll help guildmates to fill theyr HOMs, so we all can enter in GW2 like salty sea dogs.
FengShuiDove
I've blown quite a bit of cash filling out my HoM fairly rigorously. I'm not rich by any means, but I feel like my hall is pretty competitive. On my main I have every monument "filled". On my account, I have one of every armor in the game with one or two exceptions (Silver Eagle? Screw it) and around 50 minis. I've got a bunch of hero armor pieces that I'll use to outfit every single hero if there's additional benefit. I've also got a couple of Armbraces that I'll turn into weapons if there's additional benefit for it since I've got 10 Destroyers and 1 Tormented in my Hall.
Basically, I'm hoarding stuff right now, but am willing to blow everything I own to send it forward to GW2. I figure even if I don't like GW2 and come back to GW1, I'll at least have a bunch of cool stuff.

Lord Mip
I'm just title hunting. My HoM is currently filled. I might get some more Tormented Weapons or cool miniatures, but my main focus is on titles now. I hope to reach GWAMM before GW2 (unlikely though) but at least My GH smells of rich mahogany. Saving up a bit to buy sweet tooth/party animal and to have somebody afk vanquish Tyria for me.
Gaulndax
Saving it all for filling out HoM and title hunting. I get a little bit OCD with games like this, to the point where I give myself a goal for the day and have even been known to schedule play time like revision time. SO yeah basically going to OCD my HoM and Titles.
wilson
I never had treaures. Nowadays I mostly give my stuff away to guildies who can make better use of it.

People who build up a bit of wealth in GW2 could pay GW1 players in GW2 currency to obtain HoM items and unlocks for their newly purchased GW1 accounts. I could trade 10 GW2 ecto for a number of minis, hero armours, weapons and runs through Urgoz/Deep/UW/FoW etc thus unlocking lots of HoM points on another players account. I don't think this will be a huge market but I can see it happening. More likely, players like myself will be giving away our minis and extra HoM point items to guildies and friends in GW2 who want to go back and unlock stuff in the old game. It becomes and interesting dynamic.
Another interesting scenario and possibly will be a bigger problem is will an RMT market be set up on ebay etc selling GW1 accounts with 30 HoM points. The gold sellers could easily set up a way to "farm" 30 points easily on an account by combining their resources and essentially selling them to GW2 players who want flaming hands. Judging from how they track gold sellers, hacked accounts and trade transactions, I see this being incredibly easy to track (Chinese IP farms 30 points working with a number of other IPs doing the same thing, suddenly account is linked to an American GW2 account and IP) and thus ban and the time investment becoming ineficcient compared to simple gold selling. Still an interesting possibility and something GW1 players might consider doing with their old GW1 accounts and wealth with more success (you only need to make the sale to profit, if they get banned after purchasing it you don't lose anything).
fortior
"Who'd go through all that red tape just to get some mediocre-looking items?" is a question I'd like to be able to ask but meh.
