Heya! Alright, I am an oldschool player. My first character, my elementalist, was started back in April of 05. Like April 30th or something. Anyhow, I played until a month or so after factions came out and quit... until last week! So I'm REALLY behind on a lot of stuff. This forum brought me up to speed on some things but I do have one problem I was hoping you might help with.
I just spotted this loremaster guy. I can't remember for the life of me if he existed back when I played, but either way I didn't have the flameseeker prophecies. Now, my Elementalist has never completed the full prophecies story. I ascended him and that was that. So the first thing I did when I get in the game is do the dragon lair mission. Talk to Glint and off I go.
A day or two after doing that mission I go and find this loremaster. I get the book from him and pay him his gold to fill it... but here's my problem- ALL it has in it is the dragon lair quest. I have done every quest in prophecies (ALL of them. Even side quests) up to the ascension and dragon lair. Yet none of it is showing up. The only thing he put in my book was the dragon lair which I just did a day or two ago. Granted, I did these quests back in 2005 but still!
What should I do? I'd like to fill the book but all my missions are completed on that character. Is there a way for me to re-attain those quests/missions despite having beaten them so many years ago, or is there something else I could do to get them filled into my book?

If you want to get your book filled, you should re-do the missions again, i am fraid. The histrorians will only grant missions completed, if you did the mission no more than 30 days prior accepting the storybook.
And anyway, you had long quit the game before the loremasters were added.

There is a limit on how long you can take before getting previously done missions into the book - around a month maybe - plus it only counts for missions done after the Book was introduced to the game. So, yes, your previous missions were done way too long ago.
You''ll need to redo the missions to get them in the book now. Just go back to the mission outposts and do them again. (If I recall, there's not all that much to be gained by filling the book at this point, so you'll need to decide if it's worth the time and effort.)

The Flameseeker Prophecies book only gets you gold and XP anyway, so it is not as useful to fill that one as it is to fill the books in Nightfall, Factions, EotN, and Young Heroes. Those books all give you reputation/allegiance points in addition to XP and gold.
If you fill the book from Dragon's Lair to the end, you will still be two missions short of the minimum number of pages you need to fill to turn the book in at all. But turning in a nine-page book only gets you a small amount of XP and less than 1K cash. Even a full Flameseeker Prophecies only gets you 8K, and there are many faster ways to earn that much gold. It just isn't worth the bother.

It's probably still worth redoing the missions to refresh yourself on whats happening and the game mechanics. More gold never hurts either.
