Ok, so I have been trying to unlock the quest "The Hero's Challenge" on an older character. I made this character a few days after release and played him till early 2006, at which point I quit for a while. I just got back and realized I never did the second part of the attribute quests.
So, I go to Droknar's Forge and get the Hero's Journey quest. Do it. I redid by ascension fight just to be sure, so that is out of the way. I also did "The Monk's Path" from Nausuan in Seeker's Passage, one of the second profession quests.
It STILL has not unlocked this Hero's Challenge quest yet. I'm stumped! Any suggestions?
Hero's Challenge won't unlock?

1) Are you sure your character is Tyrian (a Prophecies character)? You may have forgotten over the years.
2) Are you sure this is the quest you're missing? There are 2 attribute quests. The other one is in the desert.
3) You might as well do the other 'The x's Path' quests just to be sure.

You'll want to do all of the path quests anyway. Doing so allows you to switch your secondary to the profession relating to the quest whenever you're in a town or outpost. If you don't do these quests you need to pay 500g per profession to access them (you've got no choice for the Factions and Nightfall professions though).

Ok- so it turns out I did not do the first attribute quest, so I needed to do that. Went ahead and finished it and went back- still no hero's challenge. SO, I suppose I really will have to do every one of the quests. Fun stuff.

Wiki says you only need to do one of them. Check how many attribute points you have (open the skills panel and mouse over your attributes). Maybe you've done it already. You should have 200 points all up if you've done them both.
