I have tried this more than 10 times. Each time I lighted both the beacons. Why am I not getting the bonus? It seemed there is a bug. how do I fix that? Thank you

you have to light the beacons very quickly - like within 30 seconds of each other or some such
this is best accomplished by having two people lighting one beacon each

What you need to understand, is that the 'bonus' Jades are en route to attack groups of dwarves off-compass after the mid-mission cutscene. Lighting the beacons draws the Jades away from the dwarves and towards you, but if the Jades have already engaged the dwarves (or killed any), then you won't get the bonus reward. This is why the beacons have to be lit quickly.

If you are doing the mission solo (H/H), you almost have to bring a running skill to get both beacons lit quickly.

I have done it without, but a running skill or a speed-boost consumable (especially rock candy) does help enormously.

If you use one, consume your speed boost just before killing Dagnar. After the cut scene, pin your H&H on the hill just in front of King Jalis and take off for one of the beacons. After you light the first beacon, drop the torch, because it will just slow you up. Run for the other beacon and use the torch there to light it.

Even without a running skill its still ok to get becons lit in time if H/H

Just run straight down fixing the heros flag at gate allow you to light 1 without any knockdown then dropping the torch and running to the other.

once lit the 2 groups of jade you have to kill (when boss dies and it asks you to speak to Jalis) you run out and kill those 2 groups have seen 1 group dwarfs dead and bonus is still given when I run over and click the other small group.

H/H this many many times on all accounts and never lost it yet most recent less than 1 week ago

If doing with H/H...
Flag H/H at king, Run to Beacons, Light Beacons ASAP, and then run back to the King.
If you don't agro the jades that come they'll actually attack the Mursaat and Stone Summit that come.

If doing with a PUG...
Decide on the 2 people who are going to be running to the Beacons to light them. Have those 2 people bring a con or IMS skill. Once lit, again, camp at King.

Remember though, You have to actually FINISH the mission to get the Bonus.

So... Basically what everyone else said.

Thank you all. I have done all that..and went out to explore before clicking on Jalis. There were 2 groups of dwarves near some homes much alive and i went around killing whatever enemies I encountered, then click on Jalis. Still no bonus...

1) Are you sure? The bonus reward cinematic sometimes doesn't show up, but check the outpost to see if there are two swords through it.

2) If the dwarves are even attacked, you fail the bonus. It's possible you were just a second or two too late.

No..still one sword. It was smooth running a year or so ago when I was a warrior, a necro then a ranger. Now i'm coming back as an assassin. Done all the other missions with bonus but hv problem with this one. I don't even see the dialog where the dwarves cry for help that I used to see before. Anyway, I'll try again ....after I got over the weariness.....

Don't you have to click on Jalis FIRST, before lighting the torches? Maybe that is your problem.

You will know if the bonus failed if the dwarves cry out, The end is here! Great Dwarf save us! Credit for the bonus is not awarded until the end of the siege; after defeating Confessor Dorian, talk to the King.

Maybe this can help you, I had the same problem last week.

The dwarves outside the keep will plead for their lives, if they scream out "The end is here! Great Dwarf save us!" then the chance to light the beacons is lost. So you won,t get bonus although you light the beacons after.

I tryed to do this only, and if you want do for sure, you need run 33% faster ( rock candy) and drop the light when you go to the first for the second. It´s all to go very fast and pray that dwarves don,t say the end is here.

I have never had trouble with the bonus here - and I never needed a speed boost. Now, surviving can be a bit of a problem, but getting the bonus, no.

However, note that you still need to finish the mission - the bonus triggeres at mission end, not at beacon lighting. Possibly this throws people off track.

Kill Stonepate, skip the video, flag party at Jalis and walk on the ramparts to the torch. Light the beacon at the torch, DROP THE TORCH (so you move faster), and go to the second beacon. Pick up the torch here, light this beacon, and you're done.

Done it without speed boosts as well. Some tricks: kill the giants in front of the fortress with the ballistas before talking to Jalis, to avoid getting KD'd by them when running to the northern beacon. As others said, drop the torch after having lit the first beacon (a fast way to do it is pressing a weapon-swap key, F1-F2-F3-F4 if you didn't change them. Remember that you will stop moving after dropping the torch.), and run to the other one going down the stairs, not passing in front of Jalis, cause it's longer (however i did it plenty of times passing in front of Jalis as well).

The chance of the dwarves being attacked before you have time to lit up both beacons is really low, so you must be doing something wrong if you keep not getting the bonus.

Eureka!....Problem solved. I was wondering why I didn't get the cry for help from the dwarves every time I played, so I checked my chat window and noticed only the local box at the top was checked not the others..so I checked the Guild box and the Team box and played. This time after the cut scene I got the Dwarves crying, "HELP, we're trapped outside..... etc".. and sure enough I got the bonus. So I conclude that the cry of help triggers the bonus otherwise without it lighting the beacons even within the time limit, serves no purpose..

It sounds very strange to me that a chat feedback could trigger the bonus. In theory, if you shut down the party chat, you can't see the dwarves' shouts, but they would be shouting anyway. On the other hand, you said that you couldn't complete the bonus several times, not having the party chat active, even if you did everything right..it's really amazing, i should try to do the bonus without the party chat and see what happens..

As this is my favourite mission, I think I've got this down to a fine art

What I do is:-

Flag heroes at the top of the keep after clearing the battlements.

Use the catapults to clear the giant mob outside the keep (right side as you look). This is important to avoid time lost to knockdowns when lighting the beacon on that side.

Release heroes and kill remaining mobs & boss.

Skip cutscene.

Flag heroes where they are.

Light beacons (no running skill needed).

Camp at kings position and kill what comes up the stairs.

The only thing you have to worry about is the king going walkabout

This works for H/H in NM and HM.

I'll admit I don't play HM that much, but at least in NM, you can plant your flag at the king and then go out for pizza.

But it's more fun to run around to the ballistas and take pot shots at incoming groups, while your H&H do the real dirty work.

You could plant a flag at the king if the king would stay put, but I fear king's death for he went too far from the flag could ruin your pizza digestion, when you return
