Starting on Wednesday, September 29th, we will be performing preventative network maintenance in our Frankfurt datacenter. This will require a temporary interruption in service beginning at 06:00 AM GMT on that date, which will affect all European players. We expect the downtime to be approximately one hour, although we will do everything we can to expedite the process. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding during this rare interruption! |

Starting on Friday, October 1st, i will be performing preventative network maintenance in our datacenter (i will be dusting out my work computer). This will require a temporary interruption in service beginning at 08:00 on that date, which will affect two thirds of employees there (there will be 60 angry people). I shall use nearby gas station that has pressurized air with a gauge to clean the dust. I expect the downtime to be approximately one hour, although i will do everything ican to expedite the process. Thanks in advance for patience and understanding during this rare interruption and hopefully less angry calls then last time. |

did the time change? I'm in Europe and my connection was uninterrupted throughout the mentioned time period. Does that mean I should expect interruptions later or is it done now?
distilledwill
Well, thats fine by me - I won't be back until 5pm! At least some of the connection problems will be sorted.
St??phane Lo Presti
Network operations has confirmed to us that the maintenance has been completed. May be you played in a non-EU district?
chiuna
Ah, I'm glad to hear it I left from international district so I guess I was on the American servers during that time. Thanks for the reply!
Lex
I really really hope that this was not any preparation to move GW Euro servers/datacenter to other location. After movement of US servers they are so crappy now.
aspi
I hope this will solve my terrible ping problem. Thanks.

Well never had lagg for a very long time but,
Since 6p.m GMT have had nothing but rubberbanding, freeze, 007
this has even been on INT/ AM /EURO
AS from Scotland and part of the euro fix?? this has made matters a lot worse for myself.
Never had it so bad had to quit and hope that the fix / completed some time ago has prevented any log on on any account due to the probs above.

Thnx for letting us know, saved me a deathlevel session.

Still having huge lags, never had any problem before this maintenance. They probably changed server so only german people don't have problems but everyone else has.
Dark-NighT
Going to test it now, but thanks for the work anyway, it really needed some optimizing.
Mintha Syl
I'm having some lag, but I don't know if it depends from server changes (I don't think maintenance could change anything in bad???) cause I had it at times in the last few days. I hope it's just a temporary issue

Hopefully, this gets fixed soon.
Although, we did just load against some euros and only one of them made it in, which was nice.
Dark-NighT
So far i didnt notice any lag at all, traveling seems to go just a bit quicker as well, however some UK players in our guild have trouble staying connected.
Fluffy Kittens
Ok its quite bad these days.. gettin lags and errors for no reasons (I'm from croatia)

Yesterday I had a very high peak, don't know how much but I couldn't move for almost five minutes, or better, I thought I was moving but I wasn't, you know how it is. After it stopped medium ping was 16k, so...it's getting scary, and now I can tell for sure it's not my connection.

I'm pretty certain that the problems with Guild Wars aren't due to my connection because I often play two accounts together on one computer, and my husband sometimes plays at the same time on his own computer on the same network. Our lags and disconnects don't always happen at the same time across all accounts.
Yesterday I was trading between my accounts in the GH and both lagged; one DCed the other didn't.
My husband was doing a HM Wanted quest in Kessex Peak and lagged then DCed just as he got to the last group by the portal into Kessex. After ranting for a few minutes he started over and lagged at exactly the same spot. I was out questing in Elona at the same time and didn't lag at all.
Last week I was chatting on one account in the GH while the other account picked up some ZQs from GToB US dist. The account I was chatting on was doing fine; the one in GToB was lagged to hell and back and DCed repeatedly - eventually I changed character, zoned to an english district, then changed back to the character picking up the quests and managed to do it without any lag at all.
Since the server move a few weeks ago, if I click "skip" too quickly at a cutscene (ie if I click as soon as the button appears rather than after a second or two), I DC, every time without fail. If I'm distracted or in a hurry, I forget that I have to wait, and click quickly - poof! DC. /sigh
The euro maintenance doesn't seem to have made any difference one way or the other to any of these things.

I've noticed a lot of problems the last few days. Two machines here, one DC the other not. Sporadic for a few minutes then everything fine again. No other internet service affected.
