Not meeting the shield req
The 7th One
If you don't meet the req of a q7/15 shield do you get 7 or 8 armor?
DeanBB
It is 8 I believe - but does it really matter? One point won't make any real difference.
Voodoo Rage
If you don't meet it, you might as well use a Q16 shield of any requirement.
Quaker
There's a possibility that you get 7.5 and any rounding up or down is done after damage/effect calculations... or not
Jk Arrow
No idea but it could be tested in PvP using a wintergreen or candy cane wep.
Although as has been mentioned, if you aren't meeting the req you might as well use an AR16 shield of any req.

Do you mean you would get 7 armor because the req is 7? Absolutely not.

He means because AL 16 goes to 8 if not met, does 15 AL round down to 7 if not met.
Personally no idea, go test it in nameless or something.

AFAIK, you always get 8 armor of a shield, for the remaining amount, you have to meet its req.
(please correct me if wrong)
Shields "should" read as :
Armor : 8
Armor : +X (Requires Y <attribute>)

According to your theory AL1-7 shields don't exist?
He would get half the armor if not meeting the req.
For AL15 I think it's 8 armor, seems like they round that stuff up.

Always the same confusion followed by people perpetuating the myth that not meeting a shield's requirement will give you half of the listed armor. WRONG!
Please follow the link jensyea posted and pay attention in particular to the second paragraph:
The shield of the OP (req. 7, 15 armor) falls in the category of "randomly generated drop, 8-16 base armor" and thus results in 8 armor when you don't meet the requirement.
To slightly correct this: following the logic from the wiki, if you aren't meeting the req, you could actually use any AR8-16 shield and always get 8 armor.

Your character will gain only 5 armor rating if that shield was not a randomly generated drop and was below 16 base armor rating. At least one exception exists (Longtooth's Shield which grants 6 armor rating).
