IMO the option to put more weapons in HoM is better than only being able to use a couple of ugly skins, but it is still the only monument that I cant be bothered with filling.
I'll have all my others filled once I complete EOTN on my last PVE toon to get enough points for monument armor, but Im not grinding any of the HoM weapons because they all look ugly to me.

I am very confident that the amount of points you gain depends on how many things of what rarities are in your Hall of Monuments.
If a player could get maximum points for simply filling the number of display spots in the HoM, that would be too easy.
It's easy to see that registering Obsidian armor should be worth more points than any other, so why shouldn't a player be able to register and receive points for all the armors they can find, instead of just a "top 5".

Why? Because rewards need to be created, and the more achievements are needed, the fewer people will get that reward - ie same work fewer happy people (and more people unhappy with those who have more than themselves)
We'll see when details are published.
Call me blind, then, because I don't see it. I don't expect any more points for my FoW set than for any other set. In fact, I think I put relatively more effort and expense into my first elite set on the account than into the FoW set, because I was much poorer and less skilled at the time. Getting the cash and mats for that first set took a lot more work under those circumstances than yawning my way through FoW shard farming and spending the cash from the other loot on ectos.
How about this:
It's easy to see a Green Miniature being worth more points than a White Miniature.
If you have a full HoM, that's fine, but I really doubt that having only 5 statues in your Monument of Honor (equal to beating the 3 campaigns on Normal Mode and any two special dungeons) will give you the exact same GW2 rewards as earning GWAMM, with a boatload of qualifying PvP titles (r8 Hero, r3 gladiator, r3 Champion, etc).
I can't be alone here.
To put it another way:
Why would I want to complete all 53 monuments if I only need to do the easiest 5 for the exact same rewards?

If you don't find a game fun or engaging in some way, then why bother at all?
Perhaps I'm just greatly disconnected from the rest of the playerbase, but I seem to recall grind was something GW was not supposed to really be about.
*as material as any in-game virtual reward can be.

I think it's sad when a materialistic* reward is all that drives people to complete challenges and actually play a game.

I cannot understand how some people can reason that all of the GW2 HoM rewards will be given to those who do very little compared to those who have done everything.
I do feel that people who do more should get more. I'm not alone.
Many people here are questioning why do more when they believe they've already maxed things out. I'm simply sharing the belief that simply maxing out a display's capacity does not correlate to maxing out all reward benefits.

If you want to call me names and make assumptions about my character that's fine. I've set my own personal goals in the game, based on what I feel is most achievable and what would be the most fun.

In effect, what I'm saying is this:
For the sake of doing it.
Let me ask the flip question:
For those who feel content with a full capacity HoM, why are you stopping there?
Wouldn't it make more sense to criticize those who don't feel the need to complete any more of their HoM if they believe they've already reached the maximum reward possible? Why stop if they're claiming to doing it for fun or the sake of doing it?

What's the likelihood of new weapon skins being rewards for this that can also be added to the HoM?
|
HoM weapon set Prophecies: Opperssor's Items
HoM weapon set Factions: TBA ("Crysis in Cantha")
HoM weapon set Nightfall: Tormented Items
HoM weapon set EotN: Destroyer Items
If this assumption is correct we might see another set of items added to HoM.

Or maybe I got my green mini from Nick in return for a handful of charr hides that took 10 minutes to farm. Is that really an accomplishment deserving of extra reward? I deserve points for having my level 20 character wand a bunch of level 5 charr to death? Wooo! Leet player on the loose!
