Well, now we know what rewards we will get in Guild Wars 2 and, more importantly, what we need to do in order to get those rewards.

How will this affect the current GW economy? Prices for items that can be displayed in the HoM have sky-rocketed. Rubies and Sapphires have almost tripled their price. Opressor's weapons, the ones not a week ago we could easily buy at 30k, sell as high as 25e (yes, more than a Tormented!!).

But what about the other items? Each item had an approximate value and was easy to PC, but now? With the game in its twilight years, the value of weapons and minis has gradually decreased (well, not all, but most), but what will this change do to the market? To the HoM, a Kanaxai has the same value as a Gray Giant...

Where is the in-game economy going? Will there be an Obama for Guild Wars, too?

well prices will go down earlier or later.... now that the prices are that high for orp. weapons for example.... ofc people will start "farming" WiK again...
and after few days or maybe weeks... the price will 100% be under 50k again... wanna bet?^^

ppl who bought stuff short before the update can be lucky now... but im pretty sure economy will be just like before in few weeks when all ppl bought enough crap for their hom....

at least thats my opinion =)
cheers

Agree with system on all that....as for the super high end minis...I'm not too sure...there is no point in having a Kanaxi in your hall over any other gold mini so I would think that the suer high end unded mini demand would drop. Since they are purely cosmetic maybe the dedicated market will pick up and the unded will drop.

will those items that u get in gw2 for completing titles etc on gw be worth anything?

since everybody is rushing to get those items now, im sure more than 50% of the population will have those items, so they wont be a rarity, they will be VERY common.

will they be worth anything in gw2??

hmm i dont think that the price for unded high end pets will drop a lot...
when HoM was introduced many ppl customized their pets just to have it in there... and didnt even know that there will ever be any reward for doing it.

so i guess there will still be enough ppl to customize high end pets or just buying em for showing how "uber leet" they are^^

cheers

No im 100%sure that (most) of the items will be pretty worthless in GW2 (expect some of the nice looking items like Ice Crusher might be worth a bit...)....
Still im not sure if its possible to sell those items anyway cause you also get Ranger-Pets and so on...
so they might be customized to your acc or character or something i could imagine.

cheers

All GW2 HoM rewards are confirmed to be account-bound, so no value for them, just some prestige, but I expect them to be very common, especially in the first year of GW2(outside the highest titles).

So far it's been 1 day and the minipet market seems to have gone crazy, minis above 50e value seem to go down and the lowest end gained the most. But what about long term effects? Since it doesn't make any sense to dedicate a 100e++ mini as there's plenty of cheaper options to get to 50 what do you think will happen to the price difference between a ded and unded high-end minis?
As nobody will have any reason to buy-and-dedicate for example a mini Polar Bear and the difference between dedicated and undedicated WILL surely drop, but what do you think will be more likely - price drop of undedi or dedi ones going up or both?
And how low can the value differences between dedi and undedi drop, can it be into as much as the value of 50th cheapest mini (below 100k)?

Tbh i dont think ppl who own ded/unded minis ever cared about the HoM part, just because unded is rarer then ded they want it..

But yeah think there will be lil less demand for em soon..

For other stuff, im sure they will stable soon

As system said, I imagine things will stabilize fairly soon. Once all the panicky people get the minis they need, outfit their heroes with armor, fill their Valor monument, and buy their Vabbian armor, prices should go back to normal(ish).

I don't get the mass frenzy, to be honest. You'd think GW2 was being released tomorrow the way all these lunatics are behaving. I made about 400k today selling hero armor and Oppressor weapons though, so I can't complain much.

All of it doesn't matter. As long as you have 30 points in HoM it doesn't matter how you got them.

The Oppressor's weapons are overrated because you only need 1 for HoM. Given that all you need to do is the quest chain to get the 10 Medals of Honor it shouldn't be sold for 25e.

The rubies and sapphires are ridiculous though. They were about 4K and now they're going for 9 or 10, Vabbian was never that popular, I guess that's changed.

Obsidian doesn't seem to be worth the 1 point it gives unless you have Vabbi and Kurzick/Luxon in already though.

EDIT: this is what happened with Factions release : the jadeite/amber for Kurzick and Luxon armor was about the same price as Obsidian Shards.

Oppressor's weapons are rocketing because, if you consider that they give you the same rewards as torm and destro weaps, they were up until now valued much lower. Now that the HoM puts them all on a level playing field, people flock to whichever is cheapest, and that demand leads to higher prices.

I'm seeing prices of white minis jumping quite a bit, just because you need so many of them to fill the HoM. Same with hero armors.

Since I don't need any more $ I'm not tempted to sell things I have in excess -- DoA hero armors, tons of rubies/sapphs, 150+ MoH's, but there's some profit to be taken right now.

I haven't checked out GTOB but my guess is Zaishen Keys will be going up a fair bit too.

I think you're probably right about the zkeys, metal. A lot of PvE-only players will find the three points from a PvP trophy to be hard to pass up.

I agree with much that has been said on here. Prices are high on craft materials and HoM weapons now, but will eventually drop again.

I think the lower end gold and green minis will see a long-term price increase (Rurik, Shiro, Varesh, Pig, Black Moa Chick). Maybe not over 100k but definitely more than 5-20k.

As far as the super high end minis go - it's tough saying. Basically the only reason to have one now is for status in Guild Wars1, as it will mean nothing for your account in Guild Wars 2. Unfortunately the HoM does not discriminate as a Rurik = Zhed

However there are still some people out there that want to collect every mini, and there are also people who payed thousands of ecto for some of the asian minis and will not drop their price down. The people who own unded Pandas and Kanaxais can still "name their price" so to speak.

The mass frenzy has been exciting, I joined in on it and overpayed for lots of crafting materials haha, I spent just about as much money as I made. There won't be another weekend this exciting in Guild Wars for a while, might as well take part in it.
