WHY has this come up?

On several occasions it will tell me to wait an extra hour before I can bump.

Well it looks like you can only bump once per hour in that particular section of the forum.
They do that so that you can't bump your thread to the top every 2 minutes to make people notice your thread

It's a fail system tho because relying on it got me banned + an infraction twice for early bumping (posting in your own sell/buy/service etc. thread twice within 24h). They should either make it work or remove it. I vote for making it work.

Ventari's Corner (buy/sell forum) Guidelines, read number 1, the rules on bumping. Actually, just read the whole thing.

@jensyea: I got a ban for an early bump in one of my first sale threads. Haven't done it since. Just look at the timestamps on the posts.

I suspect that's Ventari's. It's supposed to be an early bump preventer (stop folks from bumping early and getting banned in the first place,) but it had a few glitches.

Here's a Site Feedback thread from last Feb. about the same kind of problem. It's a known bug with no easy fix. In the end, you wind up having to wait 25 hrs before bumping your Ventari's threads instead of 24 hrs sometimes.

Warning note - I don't recommend trusting that the software will stop you from bumping early in Ventari's specifically because of the various glitches. Read the timestamps yourself, and be sure to wait 24 hours before you bump your thread. If it makes you wait an extra hour, there's not much you can do. But a 25 hr bump won't get you in trouble for rule violations.
