This is just an example of why a necro would run the Sos:

Joined a pug the other day for the zm = Oola's lab. Group had 2 necros (myself one of em) 1 Sos Rit and 1 monk. Oola's has no corpses for minions so both necros were setup as ss; the Rit switched to resto & I ran the Sos to accommodate the team. Pretty specific example I know, but stuff like this happens often when there is slim pickings for team members.

Really though, I don't run into that many unfamiliar skill bars in pug's, for the most part people are aware of what works and what doesn't. The worst I can think of was the necro running the discord AP bar with 4 empty skill slots that I mentioned in another thread.

If I organize a PUG I'll take pretty much anything, as long as there's a good balance between protections, heal and damage. It's funny to see how we do with people using builds that are sometimes pretty bad.

I am also one of those people that has never looked at PvX wiki. I think that half the fun of Guild Wars is trying out new builds to see what you like and what you don't like. For example, my first build woth an elite got me through Factions easily. Now I use a different build. Yesterday I decided to go back and see how good my old build actually was. It was pretty bad. However I beat Factions with it and had a good time running it while I did. No it was not the best build ever, but it was fun to run.

Is the OP trying to imply that henching ZM/ZB was somehow hard, and only NOW will they become easier than forming a pug, and thus pugging will decrease dramatically?

Whatever you think about pugging, the addition of 7 heroes is not going to change it, except in those few elite areas where no henchmen exist.

Heroes are greater than Humans regardless of the skills used or the skill levels...for one reason.

They take no time to form at all! Most of the time If I want to form a decent human group (guild or pugs) it takes an average of 10 minutes. Frequently someone needs a washroom break, is missing a skill, or need to switch characters. Not to mention the frequent lack of key characters like monks.

Once your take all those into consideration, even if you get the greatest group in the game, by the time the group is actually ready to go, a H/h team would already be 10 minutes into the mission, minimizing any advantage you've gotten by forming a good human group, if not eliminating the advantage altogether. The presence of less than decent players in pugs merely add salt to the wound.

I'll take a bad playing, but good-hearted PUG over the speed clear jerks any day. There's something retarded about the kind of people who just want to grind the game over and over with the most "epic" read: path of least resistance method, while they snack on cheetos. And yeah, I've been there and done that but got bored fast.

okay sooo... OP is a dick. ...not a personal attack either. His entire post is "This is the rude things I do for my own benefit, help me be mean to other people playing concept builds and raise their blood pressure instead". He's telling us straight up that his bad behavior must be justified here.

I think the level of build snobbery should be relative to the difficulty of the mission.
Consulate Docks, STFU and don't kick a monk because he doesn't have your fav. rune or won't bring Heal Party.

If it's the UW or Duncan, then build snobbery is critical.

I almost went insane when we had a team lead nitpicking the entire team over bloodstone caves.

/kick should be reserved for fire nukers who insist their build works against destroyers

It's amusing how there's quite often more snobbery thrown around in these threads towards "elitists" than from them.

Oh pls /report me, and while your at it a good spanking would do nicely. On another note.... I did ask this thread to be PURELY about posting bars that you found funny, or bad or whatever.... NOT to humiliate the person, as this is all done anonymously. If you are unlucky enough to have one of your bars posted here because someone thinks its bad then... um.... LOL?

This thread is just so us vaguely experienced players can have a laugh and a joke about them. If you dont wanna read a thread about bad builds or whatever, because you still believe every on this earth is intellectually of equal merit then fine, dont read it? is it that hard to just hit x?

If you honestly believe there is nothing such as a bad build, just 'original builds' vs 'PvX' builds then please do not feel free to post here. I'm so bored of this argument I don't bother having it any more. Go obs mode and you will realise what is meant by 'skill balance'. Only a fraction of the elites in the game should get use in PvP and slightly more are excusable in PvE.

To all of ya who posted builds <3, esp <3 the post about the free +30 attribute point quests.... after 5 1/2 years of game? not doing 2 quests? for free points....

You know, I've never met a ranger bow build I've really appreciated.

Even splinter barrage is way outclassed by Splinter Wounding Strike.

That's why we have pet builds!

heroes can be faster than certain groups of humans... BUT

1. you cant have as much fun, like chatting
2. once you found a very good team, heroes will never make it that far
3. heroes cant think, like interrupters
if you have interrupter mesmer hero, he/she (norgu or gwen) will interrupt any skill, so if a ranger does troll unguent, while an ele is doing meteor shower, or searing flames for more annoying and not escapable burn+dmg example, you'll be showered, or for SF you'll be scorched, as targeting does not work well with heroes/hench, some still go after another foe, at least for me
and a human player group... a good one, will know which enemy to attack and interrupt

sure, heroes can do some things better, but dont think of what to do

also, i think the topicname should imo be: Heroes > Humans if you're in a hurry?... etc

for me, i play the game for fun, and chats (yes even after 7 heroes announcement), not to go through it faster without having any fun

achievements are ok, but not if i only do stuff non-stop and as fast as possible
even if i had too much of work(which i dont) i wouldnt want to go through it just cuz i can do everything in 1 day

now that i showed my opinion, i can say a bit more about the question

very good players who know what they do > heroes which have the best builds ingame

even with heroes you cant do it that much faster, as you sometimes gotta command them, as i told you before, they cant think, so it will take some time for that too

lol. 7 hero team all with tease/CoF/ Psychic Instability. PvE will become epic.

A few points.
First, I've never gone through any of the ZM/ZB's as fast with heroes as I have with a good human team.

Second, the only req. for a good team is 2 healers of any type (resto rit or monk) and...that's it. You can go all rangers from that point and have a very reasonable expectation of success.
Oh yes, I prefer the meta wiki team(s). 2 monks (one HB, the other UA), an imba (me), an SoS rit, 1 tank who isn't stupid, a second melee frontliner, an SS necro, and a Panic Mes.
However I won't sit there spamming GLFM for 2 hours to get it and I feel sorry for those who do.

I did a ZM 2 weeks ago with a guy running himself, 2 para heroes, and Margrid as Pararangers and it worked great.
Having done both PvE and PvP for a long time now, I've seen great players do amazing things with crap builds and players be hopeless with meta.

Last comment, my father who is 60 yo plays GW. He has MGHSoRH (25 titles) and he did it with the same build, same ranger for the last 2.5 years.

I can't wait to do seven hero teams all with /R secondary and pet builds. Just for the fun of it.

for the bold part, i actually didnt count the time it takes to get pug, maybe a guild + its allies which are bit of pro's (can do nearly anything in gw), and know how each party member works/plays/whatever you call it

i dont like pugs personally, and i only team up with friends to do harder stuff (not always too hard for me), and the only reason i teamup with random people lately, is to help em with something i can do good, like taxi to consulate docks, or walking to another low lvl place, like i did with someone to ranik, and i even brought him to serenity temple and surmia

hmm, i need to keep an eye on myself not going too offtopic, it seems, but oh well, this cant be that bad

anyway, as i said, i were just talking about human teams ready to do it and do it good and fast
